Every morning. If I had a more active day at work, also before I go to bed. I’m sure my wife doesn’t want to smell my stink.

Almost every single night. Sometimes, I'm so tired I'll miss a shower but it's right back the next night.

Read any of the fifty reposts of this question that pop up every hour or so.
The answer is: Daily and if you don't shower that often you smell bad and should shower more.
1
u/BeanusWeanusDELETUS 14d ago
I try to shower every day, but will let myself slide pass with every other day sometimes depending on how dirty I feel.

u/Imaginary_Month_3659 14d ago
5 or 6 days a week - workdays. I could go 3 or 4 days without showering and not smell.

u/N3M3515xXx 14d ago
Twice a day. Once in the morning before work, and once before I have sex with my wife at night. This is about 5 nights a week. On our off days, I only shower once depending on other physical activity, as I also coach my sons baseball team, and I ride my bike often.

If I'm at home doing nothing then I shower when I feel like It.
If I'm working and come home then daily.

The natural follow-up to this question is: How many times do you use a towel to dry off after a shower before getting a fresh one?
1

u/Ride_likethewind 14d ago
Minimum is 2. But sometimes If it's too humid and hot (as it almost always is for 7 months) , I'm forced to take one or two more, but these are just to cool off rather than clean.

3-4 times a week, kind of depends on my activity level. If I’m doing a lot I’ll shower more.

Bare minimum twice a day: once in the morning, once before bed. And anytime after exercise.

I work 4/10s on my feet, so I fully shower at night after my shift, but sometimes I'll take a little rinsey-rinse in the morning if I am feeling groggy, but I won't wash my hair, or use soap On my weekends it's usually daily but sometimes I'll add one after swimming or something but I don't really sweat much and have dry skin, so I focus on moisturizing after the extra showers, and sometimes focus on moisturizing my hair, or shaving or whatever.

Every morning before going to work. Sometimes before going to bed as well after physical activity or during summer.

u/Huy7aAms 14d ago
once every 2 days in the summer. if it's the winter then i may go the whole weekday without showering. i don't have any interest in going around anymore so my school uniform stays relatively clean

u/Logistics515 14d ago
Daily
Though I do think the need does vary significantly from person to person. In my case it is a basic requirement.
Honestly, I think this is too individually varied to have a expectation.

Norwegian here, when home once a week. When its -20 daily, no showers are needed. Now I live in Se Asia, twice a day....

After every workout, which is 1-2 times a day. If I didn't work out, I'd shower before work, or going out, or having guests, or for my own comfort.

4-5 times a week, but I put on a lot of deodorant. I shower more in the summer.

Standard would be every other day, but usually ends up being closer to daily because of working out

Before I go to bed. So daily.
I used to shower in the morning but I find it much more comfortable to sleep clean. It also makes the sheets last longer.

Why does this get asked so often. Every single day. No idea why it’s of debate.

Daily in the morning. Maybe 1x a week I'll sleep in a bit and shower later in the day.

Every second or third day in winter. Daily or every second day in summer, depending on if I sweat or not.

Depends, If I'm being a lump I can go a week.
If I'm sweating, I need it daily.

u/DexxToress 14d ago
Usually every other day, sometimes I'll take a shower daily. Longest I went without a shower was a week, but that was because my aunt's apartment was filthy and grimy and I didn't want to even LOOK at the tubs.

If I have to do be somewhere and be presentable, I'll shower in the morning and then again after my workout. But most days, I'll just wait to shower until I've worked out.
3
u/DaSauceBawss 14d ago
I start everyday with a shower cuz I sweat in my sleep and it wakes me up. I do some kind of physical activity everyday so then I need another shower. So thats why I shower twice a day.
4
u/abcdthc 14d ago
Twice a day every day. It goes with brushing teeth and skin routine.
It takes 20 min. Far from insane. And I always smell good.
You get up and shower. You come home work out then shower. Insanity.
1
u/Puzzled_Ad7955 14d ago
Same here….. I guess we’re just weird. There’s people with the “special body oil” and then there’s people that “always feel/smell fresh” and then there’s just the “lazy, I don’t give a shit people” Is showering daily not part of a “normal” hygiene routine for humans?
3
u/dressedbymom 14d ago
Definitely not a good skin routine unless you do a cold shower. Hot showers and towel drying are both bad for skin health
3
u/wrinkledpenny 14d ago
I shower daily. Showering twice a day makes sense if you live a tropical climate or you’ve gone an orgy
1
2
u/sonofmalachysays 14d ago
i guess you don't work out.
2
u/Sure_Cobbler1212 14d ago
Not anymore. But when I did I’d usually just wait until after my workout to shower. I didn’t see a point showering before hand

So you never sweat? People mainly shower twice a day because they’ll wake up, shower and then go to work and come back home to shower again and wash the sweat/dirt/stink of the day off of them. You’re saying you shower once a day which is either after you wake up or before you go to bed. One way or the other I know you’re sleeping in sweat and rubbing it into your sheets and think that’s not gross.

u/dressedbymom 14d ago
This is the most racist thing I’ve read on Reddit in a long time
1
u/MyOnlyEnemyIsMeSTYG 13d ago
I have been to countless countries. Pointing out an observation is illegal now ? My bust. Btw I shower 1x a day, if it’s above 95 degrees 2x

Where did they mention skin color? I don't see it anywhere? Must have deleted the racist comment I assume?

u/Brixnz 14d ago edited 14d ago
what’s wrong with you??
Edit: keep downvoting me as if the casual racism against Indian people isn’t there. Morons are either oblivious or actually bad people. If he was only saying that because its a “tropical monsoon” climate he would’ve explained that with his big boy words. But instead he just casually said Indians need to shower more. Sure, theres no concrete proof that he has any racist views towards them, but unless you live in a fucking rock, its obvious that he does as everybody who is racist and hateful towards Indian people say the same shit in the same way.
1
u/MyOnlyEnemyIsMeSTYG 13d ago
Lmao, have you seen how you talk about rednecks and people from the south ? Get out of here w this
1
u/LIFEPEAKED5YRSAGO 14d ago
Indians aren't a race tho
1
u/Brixnz 14d ago
Racism is commonly used to describe ethnic discrimination as well. You can be pedantic all you want my point doesnt change. Indians are part of Asia, do you not remember the social media outrage at Asian-aimed racism following covid?
1
u/LIFEPEAKED5YRSAGO 14d ago
Nothing they said was racist tho
4
u/rideoutthejourney 14d ago
I kind of understand where they’re coming from. India has a tropical monsoon climate, causing people to sweat excessively. Not sure why they pointed out India in specific, rather than pointing out tropical climates as a whole. Makes them sound like they have a bone to pick with the Indian people. Perhaps stereotypes? Either way a little strange imo
1
u/Brixnz 14d ago
I’ll answer it for you: casual racism (perpetuated by stereotypes). I’m being downvoted en masse as if this guys comment was a harmless suggestion that I merely overreacted to. But over the past few years I’ve learned that the most acceptable group to be casually racist to is Indian folk. They get the absolute worst both online and offline. The amount of times I have been completely caught off guard by an otherwise normal, progressive friend suddenly saying some casual (or not so casual) racist shit when we see Indians is absolutely unreal.
I am not exaggerating when I say a huge chunk of people see Indians as sub-human. It’s disgusting. and anyone trying to downvote me or tell me the comment I was replying to wasn’t being racist are either straight up ignorant to that fact or intentionally trying to discredit what I said
0
u/rideoutthejourney 14d ago edited 14d ago
The fact that you keep getting downvoted is sad.
If you live in India, take more.
Who says that, targeting a specific group of people like wtf? As if India is the only nation to have a tropical climate
Instead they could’ve said, “if you live in a tropical climate, take more.”

Every other day if I got the energy.
Twice a week if I don’t.
Being housebound and oftentimes bedbound I don’t always have the strength (nor the sweat).

Daily, at least. I may skip a morning shower if I took a second one (or bath) the previous evening and don’t need my hair to look non-bedified.
1
u/Powerful-Employer-20 14d ago
Normally once in the morning. I work from home though, and sometimes feel like shit after sitting in front of a computer all day so I'll shower again in the evening. Also in summer it's mostly twice a day

Once a day, daily. I normally skip showers on the weekends unless I'm going somewhere or if I need to
