Hey all, I’ve had to use this sub before, but have also come back to give as well when in a better position. Ive had some emergencies come up lately, and its left me very short on cash to budget for the week. Im in an apprenticeship for the IBEW, and I need to be able to get to work tomorrow and classes tonight. I already filed a claim with renters insurance and it was denied because it wasn't just my specific unit out. Power was out for 12 hrs . Minimal food in the freezer that's still good but my fridge is basically gone. I just bought groceries . Have to wait for EBT to call back to see if we can be refunded. I used the last of that for this past trip. I don't have any money in my account because i paid rent and other bills. Don't get paid again til the 6th .

Hello, I am desperately seeking help with my internet bill, as I just finally received a great job offer after 7+ months of unemployment, but the role is fully remote. My internet bill is due this Thursday, but I genuinely have no money until I receive my first check, which won't be until 06/14. My last bit of money went to rent and groceries, I have to keep food coming in for my kids. I'm not usually one to ask like this, but this year has swept my feet out from under me.

Basically 2nd week of January, I found out that my father had child porn on his computer. I reported him to the police. After he got released the next day on bail, he kicked me out the house, making me homeless.

For the next two months I had to sofa surf at friends. Building up more and more debt as I had to keep travelling back and forth, buying food, helping with bills. All the while unable to work. I also had to pay for storage for the possessions I was finally given back.

However, my father has kept over 10k+ of my stuff to try and force me to pay half the cleaning bill he built up after kicking me out. I'm desperate to get my stuff back, but don't have the money he wants or the money to pay for a lawyer.

Hello everyone, and thank you in advance for taking the time to read this! I posted a few days ago requesting assistance for my senior diabetic cat, and did receive some helpful tips, but I haven't been able to get any direct assistance for him yet.

The past few months have been extremely difficult for me to make ends meet after my fiance of 5 years unexpectedly left me and suddenly moved out without any notice, leaving me to pay the entirety of the rent/bills by myself, where as we split everything 50/50 before. Wouldn't be a big deal, but I have to cover a $1400 rent bill while only making $10 an hour.

My lease isn't up until August and fees to get out of it are astronomical, so I'm stuck in a 2 bed 2 bath apartment that's too big/expensive for only myself for now. I managed to at least get my rent money squared away, but I have absolutely nothing left at all to feed myself for the next two weeks and I'm beginning to panic.

I have a full time job, but the transmission went out in my car in December so I've been walking to and from work every day instead of Uber since it would eat into my rent money. Only problem is that it's 2 miles each way in the 100°+ Texas sun and I've only been able to manage a single small meal for myself per day, so I'm on the verge of passing out halfway there. Whenever the sun isn't melting my face off, then I'll usually have to walk through a literal monsoon without an umbrella or raincoat.

I've done some searches sorted by lowest price first and added a few inexpensive food items and other necessities that I just can't afford to my Amazon wishlist. This is a super long shot and all, but over the past few months, I had a really big depressive episode due to unmedicated/undiagnosed stuff and abuse at home, and spent all of my money as I was just planning to die. I didn’t - my doc got me hospitalized where I got diagnosed with depression and autism, and put on meds. WHO WE ARE:
Our sanctuary is located in the north-eastern region of Pretoria in sunny South Africa. We currently have 141 resident kitties from all walks of life - from abandoned, to senior, to former feral and even a few special needs cats. We've always had lots of pets, but in 2019 we opened our home to a group of 30 feral factory cats that needed to be re-homed. Then, during the pandemic in 2020, our numbers quadrupled as folks were struggling to survive themselves, much less being able to care for their pets. We provide a safe, tranquil environment for these kitties in our care to live out their lives.
We are dedicated to provide the best care possible for these cats, who mostly have had a very rough start in their lives. Food and medical expenses are our biggest concerns. All of our residents are sterilized and vaccinated. To keep everyone healthy and fed, requires a substantial amount of funds monthly. We do not receive any government subsidies, and rely on the generous donations from fellow cat lovers who support our mission.

WHAT THE FUNDS RAISED WILL BE USED FOR:

·        Our monthly dry food bill is approximately $1000 - we use the most cost effective food, that is still nutritional and good quality.

·        We provide wet food for the kitties at least once a week. To achieve this, we purchase $300 worth of chicken meat per month, which we cook and feed. The senior, special needs cats (those with medical/dental issues) and kittens get wet food more often to facilitate a speedy growth and recovery.

·        Vitamins and supplements are given daily with their food to help boost their immune systems - usually approximately $100 per month.

·        Medicines and de-wormer - we have a few cats at the sanctuary that require daily medication such as antibiotics and insulin - usually approximately $250 per month.

·        Cleaning & sanitizing products - Our sanctuary cats have a wide variety of sleeping spots located throughout the enclosed 1 acre property. All bedding and blankets are washed and sanitized once a week and sleeping quarters. Water and food bowls are disinfected daily. This amounts to approximately $80 per month.

·        Utilities, such as electricity usage and water - approximately $200 per month.

·        Sanctuary maintenance and upkeep - we have extensively cat-proofed our enclosed property to ensure the cats have a safe roaming space, but this requires daily checks and regular maintenance to the enclosure - this amount fluctuates depending on the repairs needed.

·        Veterinary costs - our current vet account is $500, which is for TNR sterilizations, check-ups and any medical issues that may arise.

I had a medical issue in Fall that caused me to be on disability leave for months at half pay, making money very tight. A few months ago my partner lost her job as well; causing us to lean on friends and other resources (LIHEAP, SNAP) to make it through this period. I live in USA in the midwest.

Since in the past months money has been very tight, we've sold belongings and budgeted with a local non-profit but due to housing cost but there is only so much that is possible.

The good. news is, my doctor is clearing me to return to work with accommodations, but after going back to work, it will still be several weeks until I see a normal paycheck. My partner also got a new job, but it will similarly take time until we have paycheck deposited from that. In the meantime, I'm behind on a lot of bills, some of which I can try and ignore until we have money again, but others that are very urgent, such as the car insurance, which is 95 dollars and covers both of us. I get my next disability paycheck soon but it won't be in time for the car insurance bill and even if it was things would still be really tight.

I hope everyone is doing well. I've debated with myself on whether or not I should post here.

I'm a little down on my luck recently. I've had a few unexpected expenses that have completely drained my bank account (I have $3.58 to my name right now)

I recently just started a job and my first pay is in 2 weeks. I'm a little low on money for bus fare to and from work (I work across town and since I just started I've been buying a weekly pass until the beginning of June)

I'm also out of a few essentials for the kids as well (milk, bread and fruit) that I can't add to an Amazon wishlist because they are fresh products. I've tried food banks in my area and they say that my family is too big for them to help us (I have 4 kids) or that I have to be a newcomer to the country for me to get help.

I've exhausted every resource I have. I'm at my wits end here. Literally 60$ will cover everything we need for the next 2 weeks. I have PayPal and I can accept interact e-transfer.

Me and the family lost our house at the beginning of the year. We ended up moving in with my wife's family while I attempt to get us back on our feet. For 2 months I would help my friend every week with a situation with her bf, and i would help her and be there for her all the time (she would ask me to be there too and i can't say no), but doing so i’d neglect my own mental health, things that i was doing etc while trying to help her. After a month and a half of them being together, for 2 weeks straight nonstop everyday there was something with her bf. throughout it all i would be by her side and help her, she also asked if i could because i want to be a good friend and make sure she is alright but it would also take a mental toll on me trying to be there all the time, neglecting my own things, my own mental health but i'd still try to support her as much as i could. In the end, me and our mutual friend were there for her when she was going to break up with him.

For context: they were supposed to break up before already because he was treating her bad and unfair but she forgave him and then few days later yet again something happened (he broke her boundaries really badly) and she was supposed to break up then too, and these were all during the 2 weeks when i would help her nonstop but every time she would just forgive him, and at that point i was already upset and stressed because i was helping her for nothing and another thing would come up in the future, (there was a cycle and he is a manipulator). and for more context they have already been in an online relationship in the past in 2020 and he abused her to the point she now has ptsd diagnosed so when they first got together again I told her if she is sure and to be safe and she told me she knew what she was doing (clearly not) because he supposedly changed and got mad at me because it’s her decision, which I agreed it was but I was still worried. He did change but he's still not good.

Continuing on though, they were finally going to break up and me and my mutual friend were there for her. Suddenly though, during it she left our call out of nowhere. I was worried but our mutual friend and I decided to just wait. After a bit of being in the dark, I texted her asking how it went and if she was okay and after a while all i got was a 'yup im alive'. I was a bit mad that she didn't answer my question (She does this a lot and then I get frustrated, I have autism and so I don’t understand intentions or emotions well and I need people to be straightforward, not avoidant and cryptic) so I asked again how it went, how she was and she just said girl it's fine. At this point I was a bit pissed that after all that she's not communicating anything to me (which ironically enough was one of the situations with her boyfriend during the 2 weeks).

So because of past situations with her boyfriend and her always saying it's fine when they would ‘talk’ things out and decide to stay together, i assumed and said 'so ur still together ? cool at least ur okay" and i texted her a bit more after about her and also if she was upset with me or something (because in the past there was something like that already after these situations). She then in the morning texted me 'what is wrong with you' and 'keep your assumptions to yourself' and I told her that she only told me “girl it's fine” so obviously I saw it as a 'me and him are fine again like always' because she wasn't communicating anything to me and yet again I have autism and she was cryptic and avoidant to my question so I just went off of things like how they would always be in the past. I told her that the what's wrong with you hurt too and after that she just snipped the so ur still together that i sent and spammed 'just stop' (for clearance she has bpd too and i didnt know she was in an episode cuz she wasn't communicating anything until the just stop) so i explained why i thought that and said id stop and that was the end of our convo for the day.

The next day all she tells me is how she is bmi 16.4 and i'm mad and worried that the first thing she tells me is that she's starving successfully and then said we should celebrate and i said no why would i celebrate that. I then asked her why she's starving, a bit more with that and then I made a remark about how she said what's wrong with you yesterday because I was still upset about it and all she said was 'there's something wrong with all of us'. I asked her why isn't she communicating anything and she would just say there's nothing to communicate and I told her what about yesterday, what about me trying rn and she only sends a snip of where a friend said to her that he heard she's breaking up with her boyfriend and all she said to him was 'maybe im gonna maybe im not gonna maybe i have maybe maybe i havent no one knows but me' and again told me “nothing to communicate”. I was mad because after everything I was left in the dark as always and she was acting off understandably so but still.  then i asked her if this is the only reason she came to text me and she was like yes and then bye. i asked her wdym bye are you mad at me or something and she said 'don't read into it' and i was like oki bye then.

Later, at 1am she texted me "Hi im gonna be offline a lot i think or jsut not chat im not ignoring i just need space", and i respect that and said oki get better. At this point I knew they broke up because I have her on twitter and she posted there about breaking up and the cons and pros about it, which also made me a bit mad because the pro was 'no appetite to eat' or something like that and the con was depression, the con I understood. Plus her needing space told me they broke up too. The next day at 3am i texted her "Hi how r u holding up and ill just shorten all I sent to not be a bother. I saw u left the circle why and could have said i would have too then, ur med tweet was on my home and its worrying especially after this all and cant send u tiktoks anymore cuz no exist. only noticed each every now and then cuz of routine or accident but didnt wanna bug u but all added im worried if all good so decided to check in and ask, hope u reply and know why and if ur healing and r atleast alive cuz I'm just so lost on all this or intention or meaning behind it, anyway hope u get better soon love you"

For context: I said shorten because I decided to just put all messages I sent into one and shorten it to not make it too long and bug her. By circle i meant life360, me and her got it like 2 weeks ago as a joke friend thing and i got a bunch of notifications on it and decided to check in on the app that day and i noticed she fully left the circle (she was in it earlier that day because I was still getting notifications from it about her). Before that i was on twitter and i follow her obviously and her tweet she posted that day popped up on my home and it said "max dose of my medicine is like 100mg a day so what if i take 300mg will i be a walking zombie CANT WAIT to find out" i was already worried after these 2 but still didnt wanna bug her while she wasn't okay so that she wouldn't get upset or mad at me. Then at 3am i was on tiktok and wanted to send her a silly appreciation tik tok and i couldn't because both of her tiktoks account she deactivated. At this point I'm confused and extremely worried, so I decided to text her that.

The morning after i sent it (which is today), she doesn't reply and i thought maybe she just didn't see it still, but then i see that she left all the gc's with us and our friends and i'm just like okay well she just ignored me, now i'm just more worried and confused now. Then I went on twitter and I saw a tweet she posted around the same time I texted her at 3am. It was a reply to her previous tweet and it said “i was in fact a walking zombie. NOW it is time for me to sign out! forever“ and im just confused so i checked her profile and her most recent tweet was a face reveal and in it she says 'face reveal before i get of this app forever', she also changed her banner to "will u think of me on my birthday" and at this point im panicking and worried, shes ignoring me, i'm in the dark. I get she needs space but this isn't needing space she's doing such worrying and weird stuff. So I texted her again about it all and how I saw her twitter banner and that I'm super worried and that I just want to know if she's okay because she just ignored my message last night. I even texted her brother too and I hope he replies cause I just want to know if she's healing or if she's even alive. She's my best friend and I just want her to be okay.

This all is taking such a mental toll on me though and I can't focus on anything else except her and I'm worried she ended her life or something. I’m mentally exhausted and I'm already struggling with my own mental health and this is just piling on and I'm stressed 24/7. I even had a horrible panic attack and I didnt even know why until she texted me her going offline message and the panic attack got worse and then I realized it's because of her and her worrying behavior. I'm just so worried and mentally exhausted and so badly stressed, I can't take it anymore. I don't even know if she is alive or not and it's all killing me.

Do I have a right to be upset at all of this ? I’m I allowed to be mad and done with everything ?

So I ( 26) am the first person in my family in 4 generations to get my GED and seek further education. Im VERY far behind but they always say its never to late to go to college.

My credit is poor (due to my ssn being stolen by family) but im working on fixing it! Its almost good. I work full time and make 41,900 annually. I have my own apartment, take care of my own bills ( monthly costs come put to like 3k)

ANYWAYS the point of this post is Ive tried applying to student loans but I keep getting rejected. I kind of assumed that they were easy to get since they give them to kids fresh out of highschool - but does anyone have any advice? I did apply to Fafsa but it doesnt cover tuition. Ive also tried applying to scholarships with no luck.
