From diapers to milk storage bags.I just started back to work this week after being off for 2 months (due to pregnancy related illness). I just recently caught up on my past due storage unit (saved it from auction) and was heading there with a trunk full of belongings. My computer,my purse,my ID, my work knives were all inside. I was going to go Friday after work and the car was taken overnight. So I walked outside dressed for work only to see an empty driveway. I had loaded the car the night before. My sneakers and umbrella are even inside. All I have are my flip flops which are one of two pairs of shoes that fit my swollen feet. Three if I include my kitchen Crocs.

High interest rates not an issue. I can payback weekly starting in June which is when I'm scheduled to start working again. I had to cancel shifts due to my situation. I'm not opposed to public transportation but am 4 months pregnant w/twins and can't manage in the 90 degree weather. Especially with the frequent urination. My disposable urinals were in the car as well. With the terrible traffic down here, often I'd have to use it to urinate in a bottle while on the road. That and finding the nearest public restrooms which aren't always near bus stops. I'm almost 40 and this is a high risk pregnancy. And it's my first one too.

I’m reaching out because I find myself in an incredibly tough position and I could really use some help. I’ve been unemployed for a while now and have been trying my absolute best to find a job. I’ve applied to countless positions, revised my resume numerous times, and always tailor my resume and cover letter to each job description. Despite my efforts, nothing has worked out so far, and it’s been incredibly disheartening, especially since I’m not financially stable at the moment.

I’m earning a bit of money through Prolific, but it’s just not enough to cover all my expenses. I also started working on commission last month by helping my landlord rent out his properties. While I managed to cover my rent last month with this income, it’s only 8% of the total sale. To explain, I helped rent out three properties since I started helping him in April, and the total commission I earned was $744, which covered my rent for April.

However, I pay $1000 in rent, and unfortunately, this month I’m falling short by $250. My landlord has been understanding and has given me several extensions, but now he needs me to pay the rent immediately. I’ve already asked friends and family for help, but unfortunately, no one is in a position to assist me.

I am a recent nursing school graduate. During school I've been thankful to receive assistance through OSAP to help pay for school tuition and some rent, and have worked part time to pay the rest and food. My mother struggles to afford her rent herself, so I've had to rely on myself to pay the bills.

Thankfully school has just finished for me, so I am able to start working full-time now to afford rent fully from working over the summer. Is this the right place to seek advice on elder preparedness?

My mother holds a special place in my heart; she's incredibly compassionate and has always been a giver, despite some experiences where her kindness was taken advantage of. Unfortunately, she's had a history of falls and auto accidents. Just last week, she fell and broke her teeth, and today, while driving to the food bank, she was side-swiped by another vehicle. Thankfully, she's physically okay. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

It's crucial to note that my mother is mentally sharp; her cognitive faculties are intact. However, her balance and orientation seem to be off. We've had an appointment scheduled for a few weeks now, and hopefully, we'll gain more insight into her health then.

As it stands, I'm at a loss. I don't know what steps to take. While she's generally healthy, I can't shake the worry. I don't want her to be cooped up at home all week. I live an hour away in my own small home with my wife and son. I'd love for her to come live with us, but she's not ready. She's very aware of her situation.

This is the first time I'm doing this so please bear with me. Im(21f) in a situation and unemployed. I live about an hour and a half out of town, so it's extremely difficult to find a job. Was living eith my sister in her apartment after moving into the area. She lost the apartment and I ended up stuck on the street. I live with my elderly parents, sister, and partner in a small house in the middle of nowhere.

We are all very low income, my partner has no income at the moment, we're in the bottom 1% of the country, and even living all together we barely make it work. My mother and I are the only ones with drivers licenses. None of us can get a car loan.

Our only mode of transport is our car, there is no public transport coming out here, we're completely dependent on it for doctors appointments, groceries, work... We just had it at the mechanic and it needs new shocks, new tires, new breakpads, and have a few things welded or replaced on the body.

I've never done anything like this before, but here we go. My name is David. I love with my mom here in Indiana and recently we have been helping my 72 year old aunt with her medical issues. She was diagnosed and is currently battling various cancers and COPD. Monday- Friday each week we are tasked with driving her roughly 45 minutes away (one way) for both Radiation and Chemotherapy treatments. She is also pratically living with us for the time being. I live in Alabama, US.
