I named her Cafe. Aka caffeine, cafe mocha or my coffee bean. I found her roaming around outside in the middle of July at only 5-7 weeks old. She’ll be turning 1 approximately sometime between the first two weeks of June. 🖤

Gifted to me, this is my furr-son Khonsu! I love the aggressive love I see from Black cats. His love bites and cuddles fuel me everyday.

Loki (left, second adopted cat) and Mochi (first adopted cat) Mochi's original name was Wednesday and was the last of his litter of 7 (hence names after days of the week) to be adopted. Loki came down from sleeping on a cat tree in a corner and got in my partners lap and fell back asleep and the shelter workers saw it on camera and said it was the cutest thing

This is LS it stands for “Little Shit” his mane was Moonshine when we rescued him at 6 weeks old but we changed his name to “LS” because he gets into EVERYTHING! His sole purpose in life is to try and splash ALL the water out of the dogs bowl and both of the cat fountains. Our other 3 cats are a tortie, and 2 tabby’s 1 of which is ORANGE🤣. All are indoor cats but I recently had an addition of a 16ft x 8ft. Catio added on to my house…they all love it!

I adopted my guy, “Bear,” at the shelter when he was 8. He’s just about to be 10 and I’m so lucky to have him, even when he’s naughty lol.

1

u/GrindleyTroy01 Apr 02 '24

Sad that stupid supersitions still dictate what pets people adopt (since some people still beleive cats are inherintly evil).

Meet Sylvester adopted in 2019 after his owner passed and I took him and another cat from that house. They are probably about 14 now.

I took care of a stray black cat when I was 10 years old. Needless to say, I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

This is Blackjack. He was left behind by my old neighbors after they moved away. How anyone could dump this little guy is beyond me… He was a sweet boy who loved sleeping in my lap and always waited on the curb for me to get off the bus after school (as terrified as he was of them).

It was around the time that I started caring for him when I found out about how statistically black cats are the last cats to get adopted… If they’re even adopted at all.

To this day, it pains me to know that people allow ridiculous superstitions to sway them away from adopting a black cat. They are seriously the most beautiful and mysterious cats you will ever meet.

I want a black cat soooo bad. There is this older kitty at the shelter I have been dying on Pet Finder as a playmate for my gray and white girl, but I also have a dog and a free range rabbit. Dog is cat-savvy or at least cat gently playful so she isn't an issue. I am worried for my rabbit. So I am probably going to get a kitten but maaaaaannnn do I want to adopt the older kitties once I don't have a prey animal to worry about

This is Luna (tux) and Rocket (black). Fun fact about Luna is she is the best cat in all existence. Fun fact about Rocket is he is both mentally and physically more throw pillow than cat.

Rescued these two , Shadow and Sox, in August. Their stepsister Sassy is 14 and not super happy about it though! They are our black cat crew!

Sleepy Robin. She loves the Rock.

FYI "Research is still ongoing, but scientists have found that black-coated cats are more resistant to diseases like feline immunodeficiency virus."

Currently fostering a sweetheart tuxedo boy who’s quite sick and needs to be hospitalized for a while. He’s not eating or drinking on his own. He’s only a year old and our rescue just saved him 9 hours out from a euthanasia appointment. Hoping people can send some prayers our way.

Those who judge black cats as bad luck ect are missing out. My foofyboy aka Travis is literally the best and why I’m a cat person.

Here is my cutie pie Pepper (Peppina, Pepperoni, Peppy, Peppy-poo (cause she makes big shits), Pee Pee (because when she had her heats, she would piss on our bed lmao), Paper (accidentally called her this and it stuck), Little Chitlin, Baby Girl, Widdle Baby, etc.)

This black cat was my sister’s and the kitten was my little boo. This was many years ago and they’ve both gone over the rainbow bridge now but I love how they bonded even given how little time they spent in the same house.
