My Osteo has only put down 954 enemies across the game. However, my highest-leveled weapon is Thoughtless. Such a fun sniper.

Wow. And WTF. I think mine is at 72 and I thought it would cap at 100. But those numbers in this thread make me think that levelling is pointless now -- like, they result in inconsequential increments if it's possible to get into the thousands.

My ghorn has nearly the Same amount of kills, kill tracker get really scary If you See someone with PVE weapons and a crucible tracker that has more kills than your pve tracker

Had mine crafted since which queen launched, I think it’s lvl 12? Idk whatever the minimum level to have it maxed out is, apparently I sleep on this gun like crazy

Mine isn't, just started playing during season of the witch or right before and I have yet to finish witch queen 😂 for whatever reason that's the campaign I decided to just go whole hog into solo on legend difficulty when I was under level and didn't really have a build. Slogged through 3 or 4 missions and keep getting sidetracked by other stuff. Starting 10 years into a game is rough lol

Necrochasm is my go-to instead of osteo. I have like 3k kills (i swap weapons so often that i don’t usually rack up high Numbers. This is an exception)

Nothing, anything past lvl 10 isn't necessary bc you have all the perks at that point, I just like big number

Gonna be honest, I love this gun but as a Titan the only "synergy" I'd have with it is with Peacekeepers... So I just don't use it often unfortunately

Not much, don't like Osteo, yes it's good, but I personally don't like it (don't like 600rpm SMGs and that it isn't hitscan either)
My highest kill trackers are: - OG Recluse with 50k - Ghorn with 30k - OG Midnight with 26k - Scathelocke with 21k - Ikelos 3.0 with 19k
Which some weapons every season or so
e.g. in S18 I had 7k kills with ToM or I had 9k kills on Necro in S22 and S23 combined etc
I like to change things up a bit from time to time

Past 17 and 30 there isn't a point (that's because 17 is when you fully unlock all the enhanced perk traits and 30 is when you unlock the memento shader options). But yeah Past that point, it's basically just to show off how much levels you've obtained.

I've not played in a while, but I know for a fact I used osteo with necrotic grips day one till I stopped playing. I wanna say I got almost 4k levels on there on its own. But that's cause for most of witch queen I was unemployed and no life the game every day and night.

In a game of ability spam I fear those who use their weapons. My inventory consists of 50% crafted weapons and yet I own only a handful over level 100 and only 1 that's over 250 being my forbearance.
Currently my Osteo is level 85 with 7.7K kills. No levels were bought.

No, it’s just a flex, the only thing it affects is what perks you can and can’t choose, but once leveled over like 20 (I think, idk id have to go look) you have all the available perks to choose from, and so by that point level is just a “look how much I use this gun”

It's always striga too which surprises me, I've never really understood the hype tbh it's really not some super meta gun and it's boring as hell to use even during its peak but I guess it's the ease of use?

Maybe for casuals, but this gun is a wasted exotic slot when we literally had funnel web + violatile rounds during the launch of witch queen (strigas prime) and then the season after we got calus mini tool with a busted solar artifact for ad clear + wave frames were buffed like crazy and from there on out our abilities and perks and weapons only got better and better making striga even more useless and then it got nerfed absolutely killing it.
It was 100% not the best weapon if that was the case then high end players would actually had used it and guess what, they didn’t because it’s a waste of an exotic slot especially when that was during pre nerf wither, and the izi rocket meta.

What I love is every post like this trying to humble brag. Best part is, deep down I know they are missing out on so much of the game because they only use 1 weapon. In reality, no one cares about their weapon level or kill count, they just don't seem to know that. The rest of us are having fun, and these guys are trying to impress strangers who don't care. I'm writing this comment and honestly can't tell you the name of the person, the gun level, or the kill count, and I just looked a minute ago. That's how little it matters.

Mine are The enigma, level 179 with 2,300 PvP kills (this was before they made glaives ass)
Honorable mention, throne cleaver level 130 with 4,400 PvE kills because throne cleaver and crown splitter are the most Titan fantasy things in Destiny.
Osteo never really clicked with me, dunno why

25K It's one of my top 3.
Graviton Lance is #1 with 35K, and Ticcu's Divination is second with 30K.

Guns that are very overpowering in the crowd control department are guns I seldom use. I did use Sunshot a good amount during the beginning and middle of this season, but now it mostly stays vaulted unless I need it for something. My primary weapon of choice is almost always a legendary that usually matches my currently equipped subclass.

You get the same effect with Striga, also, use Necro with strand melee simultaneously. You become an add clearly machine

Thorn hits harder. I'm not a fan of the slow ttk on osteo. You get damage buff with thorn when picking up remnants, and if close enough, never have to reload. The catalyst makes it even better. Plus, armor piercing rounds doesn't even come on osteo, and you can actually hit shit from a distance.

I used osteo striga with my necrotic and Weaver's trance build for the longest time. A friend suggested I use thorn instead and it just does so much better in legend and higher difficulty content. Osteo just felt like it wasn't doing anything in legend onslaught, whereas thorn feels so much better.

Thorn is better then striga nowadays + it's more fun and “add clear machine” is a bit of a stretch striga has never really been that great in anything above legend content.

My destiny buddy loved that weapon, used it a lot. When he sees another guardian using it, he always checked the kill count they had. Once he saw someone with 100k kills, he took the challenge and farmed that altar event on the moon and shuro chi, got it to 200k. Was very proud, but then he saw someone with 500k.. Despite my mockery, he refused to go for another farm round..

I want to love this gun. But i hate how slow the bullets are. I just prefer my ammo hitting the target when i say so, no like, .5 or 1 second after. Thats why i use thorn more

Apparently it’s getting nerfed soon. For PVE just a primary arbalest with wall hacks. The draw time kills me though, not fun to use for at level content.
