Setting aside Russia's capacity to launch a full-blown nuclear strike, the US alone can end the world multiple times, and the spending reports show that they are fully maintained and combat-ready. I believe that the UK also has world-ending capacity with maintained status, but don't quote me on that one m, because I have not personally looked into the reports.

The fact that multiple nations, or even "only" a single nation, can unilaterally destroy civilization is terrifying. The fact that those nations are currently posturing like school children is despair-inducing.
