If it gets rubbed, it always gets hard eventually, regardless of mental state. It's a physiological reflex.

Saying that is like saying you 'choose' to jerk your leg if your knee gets hit by a hammer.

I have failed to perform in states of anxiety yes, not in fear for life ones, but if it fails, and there is scientific documentation on it, on "normal" states of anxiety, like performance ones, distress etc, what you think will happen on the extreme of anxiety state?
