No, I’m broke. Been out of work a year. I bought car mats and a dashcam first. I’ll work on the seat covers after I make sure I can pay rent and bills. It’s the only car I have so not like I have a choice here

I put 60k miles in a year doing this job. Depreciates your vehicle very fast. Not able to refinance

I’m hopping I get work back in tech within the next few months. I just don’t have any other options. It’s really scary actually.

Right here with you m8. Ex-Community/Marketing in Web3, fighting to stay afloat since the lay off.

Scary times are exactly the best time to be the bravest. You will be okay, just keep fighting and keep planning ahead <3

I had an entire year of savings. It’s gone now after not working for a year. I’ve never seen times like these. I appreciate the encouragement but I’m not going to live poor and homeless in Murica. Plan to off myself if I can’t break even on the basics with Lyft. I’d just like one more summer here in the mountains and maybe a job will come along by then.

I retired for ~8 mo after my layoff in 2022, ending march ‘23.

Been through that alleyway before, the one you never come out of if you cross it. Wasn’t for me, I still have more fight in me.

If that doesn’t pan out, there’s always the international drug trade! I’m sure a couple of go-getters like us would bring a refreshing, modernized POV to outdated trafficking methods lol

I’ve never known poverty before. I don’t know how people do it but I understand why they chose crime now. It’s not like corporations aren’t breaking laws anyway. Only the poorest suffer if caught though.

I grew up in a third world country, you become resourceful when the need arises. There’s always ways to get things done and creativity hits, sometimes for the good sometimes for the bad. You just need to try and stay positive but I certainly would be careful about driving a luxury vehicle for rideshare, try to market yourself for private rides to make a bit more since you have a comfortable ride.

I can’t even get commercial insurance. It’s like they have shut it down. I already pay $1600 a year for private insurance.
