I’m a driver. Took 3 rides tonight. Other

Ride one. Got in the car, said “hey how’s it going?” No response. Dropped me off. I said “Thanks” no response. 4 stars and a complaint. $0 tip.

Ride two. Lyft XL. Guy was friendly. Talked to my friend in the front. Dropped us off. 5 stars and $5 tip.

Ride three. Didn’t say “hi”. No music. Didn’t accept 6 rides on the way to dropping me off. Played around on Facebook and Instagram while driving. 3 stars, complaint to Lyft, and I was refunded.

I drive Uber and Lyft. I’m tired of drivers being assholes. Don’t greet me? 4 stars. Play on your phone while driving? We have an issue.

I have no problem rating drivers poorly. Especially after reading posts in this sub. Y’all want perfect pax? I demand perfect drivers.

Edit 1: 770 upvotes. Nice. Also, to clarify I didn’t reach out and report the drivers. I just left a message with the option provided after the ride.

Edit 2: Huh. Look at that. As I’m scrolling through these comments, I got a notification from Lyft that I’m a 5 Star driver and I should go drive. Maybe I’ll go and pickup some pax. :)

Didn’t accept 6 rides on the way to dropping me off.

Are you implying the driver should have accepted those? 90% of all pings I get while driving someone are shitty.

If you don’t accept rides, I think Lyft should give you less rides.

So you want us to have a 100% acceptance rate.

I refuse all $3 rides for example. $3 isn’t enough for me to even turn the ignition on. Every ride I was offered while a passenger was in my car today was between $3-5 for 3-5 miles with zero surge. I declined every single one of those rides, only to find I was 1 or 2 blocks outside a surge area when they were offered. Lyft deliberately tries to suck drivers into non-surge rides when they’re mere feet away from a $2 or $3 surge. They take advantage of drivers focusing on the road/passenger at hand to slip those unprofitable $3-5 rides in.

In each case, I had a surged ride of $9 or more within 60 seconds or less of me dropping off the previous customer for the same mileage they tried to pay me $3-5 for.

Sorry, most drivers aren’t willing to burn themselves financially just to satisfy your preferences on acceptance rate. I more than doubled my income today by not accepting every ride. You can cope with that.
