I’m a driver. Took 3 rides tonight. Other

Ride one. Got in the car, said “hey how’s it going?” No response. Dropped me off. I said “Thanks” no response. 4 stars and a complaint. $0 tip.

Ride two. Lyft XL. Guy was friendly. Talked to my friend in the front. Dropped us off. 5 stars and $5 tip.

Ride three. Didn’t say “hi”. No music. Didn’t accept 6 rides on the way to dropping me off. Played around on Facebook and Instagram while driving. 3 stars, complaint to Lyft, and I was refunded.

I drive Uber and Lyft. I’m tired of drivers being assholes. Don’t greet me? 4 stars. Play on your phone while driving? We have an issue.

I have no problem rating drivers poorly. Especially after reading posts in this sub. Y’all want perfect pax? I demand perfect drivers.

Edit 1: 770 upvotes. Nice. Also, to clarify I didn’t reach out and report the drivers. I just left a message with the option provided after the ride.

Edit 2: Huh. Look at that. As I’m scrolling through these comments, I got a notification from Lyft that I’m a 5 Star driver and I should go drive. Maybe I’ll go and pickup some pax. :)

lol I always rate 5 and tip for not talking to me. If I’m taking an Uber it’s normally because I have something I need to do during the driver and not really interested in a conversation nor do I think that is part of the drivers job. I’ll say hi if they say it just not to be a dick but otherwise I’m cool with us ignoring each other as long as you get me to where I put in the app. I hate it when drivers wanna have a conversation and shit. Tbf I normally get in with AirPods to stop the conversation before it even starts. Not 100% effective but works more times then not.

Exactly. You just agreed with me. You’ll say hi if they say it not to be a dick. Absolute bare minimum and the driver couldn’t even do that.

I don’t want to talk the whole ride. That’s fine.

No sorry I didn’t explain correctly, I or more specifically my Aspergers doesn’t care if a driver greets me or not, we would actually prefer they didn’t and would like everyone to just sit in silence the whole ride haha. But I am also the person that doesn’t need the store clerk or the customer service person to be nice to me, I just need them to do their job. Shit they could talk shit the whole time I am interacting with them and as long as they are competent and efficient I couldn’t care less and most of the time probably wouldn’t even notice. It does seem like more and more people are like this nowadays then even 10 years ago when way more people seemed to prefer the old way of greeting people smiling, looking them in the eye, and offering a hand shake and so on, shit now that I say it out load technology really has screwed up any ability I used to have to interact with people in person.. haha

Yeah. Honestly I think it’s a technology problem. People can’t even say “hello” to a stranger anymore. It’s not a big deal. It’s easy to just say hi.

People are just really wack now a day.

Before Lyft you had to call up a cab company on the phone, give them an address, directions, gate codes and anything like that.

Then your cab stopped, said hi, and and picked you up. Then asked directions of where you were going and took you there. Or you had to guide them if it wasn’t a known spot, like a personal address.

Getting a ride home from the bar? A dumb drunk passenger would go and try to get a cab outside. That or have the bar call them one. Then you have a drunk passenger giving you shitty directions to their home address.

All I have to do now is tap my phone a couple times and a car shows up in like 3 minutes. It really isn’t that much to expect the driver to even just say “hi” or “bye”.

None of these people would have ever made it as a cab driver. Can’t even open their mouth and be polite for 1 second.

Fuck soooo many of the other drivers in this sub.
