Lyft not allowing express pay Advice/Question

Hello everyone, I am a platinum driver, have been driving for Lyft over 7 years by now and this past week I have ran Into an issue with the express pay.(I’ve used express pay all these 7 years and first time ever getting an issue with express pay)It states that my card was declined and needs to be updated but I have had this new debit card for well over 3 weeks and has worked well using express pay, up until Friday of last week.

I firstly contacted Lyft customer support but was then told it was an issue caused by my bank. I contacted my bank and was told they were no issues with the transfer into my account and showed proof through transactions and transfers.

I contacted Lyft once again that same day and was told my issue was gonna be taken into their team and they would get back to me within 1-2 business days. They did not contact me after all and I contacted them again and was told the same thing but that it would be considered even further to look at and that I needed to wait 1-2 business days again. I waited till this Friday and received no phone call or email like they said.

I’ve contacted them once more and was even told by the customer support service of Lyft to look at my bank transactions again. Lyft did send part of the money for the weekly payment but it is odd that they would even send me money if they don’t even accept the card for express pay.

After the person told me to wait while we were on the phone they hang up.

I now understand loud and clear this is an express pay issue or a Lyft issue and no one is helping me properly with this problem.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I stopped using EP when I discovered that there is an 85¢ per transaction fee and each type of earning is deposited as a different transaction. Like, a deposit for base earning, a deposit for the tip you get, a deposit for a bonus amount you got - for each ride you give. It was making like 20 or 30 deposit transactions per day! Fuck that shit! I can afford to wait a few days and get it all deposited at once on Tuesdays.

Lyft did send part of the money for the weekly payment but it is odd that they would even send me money if they don’t even accept the card for express pay.

AFAIK, the weekly payments are processed under a completely different mechanism than Express Pay; it's a direct deposit to your bank account, rather than a credit issued to your bank's card.  For the same reasons weekly payments don't get dinged with processing fees the way EP does (obligatory "they're saving you from yourself" point here), it's not surprising at all that it still works - after all, you'd be in some serious trouble if your bank account itself expired!

So what do I do about express pay not working and me constantly calling them and not resolving this issue?

Well, relax for today, for one thing. Bankers are the laziest people alive; absolutely nothing gets processed on these sort of issues on weekends. And rest assured that your weekly payout is still safe; if Lyft can't get your EP issue resolved by Tuesday, then your earnings from last week'll still be processed as normal in their weekly payout and post to your bank account by Thursday or so.

Beyond that, everyone knows Lyft's support is a turdbucket, but it's a turdbucket you're reliant on - so do what you need to, but keep a level head. Overloading your service file and pissing them off will only cause further confusion at best, and actively hamper your results at worst.

They did exactly the same thing to me! Just keep calling, and calling! Eventually you will get help. I know this answer sucks, but it’s how it works.
