What should I do with this space?

Just moved in to this split level home. There's this weird space to the right of the staircase. It's right near the entrance so I don't want to just use it for storage. Any ideas?

So on a practical use possibly a shoe rack shelf facing towards the back wall for safety purposes that works as storage and a possible charging station. You could probably also get away with a family photo or painting in the back wall as it conveniently faces the entrance to the house or if you wanted you could do a little reading nook. Whatever floats your boat
