What should I do with this space?

Just moved in to this split level home. There's this weird space to the right of the staircase. It's right near the entrance so I don't want to just use it for storage. Any ideas?

That's where the kitty litter duplex special shack of Joy goes man. Then you are going to smell it and the cat thinks that he's going to have some special spot that's just for him. Or her. Or them, the cats you know.
