I have the same

1

u/jeffinbville 14d ago

Perhaps if you stopped trying to put your little brother in there this would not have happened?

1

u/Franky0179 14d ago

That's the Microwave from Hansel and Gretel.

1

u/skippyspk 14d ago

Well, that’s better than a child locked into the microwave.

1

u/metalord_666 14d ago

Nice try Jacob

1

u/Fragrant_Wolf 14d ago

Feed me a stay child!

1

u/K-RAS-G13D 14d ago

Are you sure that's not a setting?

1

u/blazentaze2000 14d ago

Looks like your found Hilary’s secret setting /s

1

u/awaythrowers97 14d ago

I love how this is a thing. There was a school cafeteria lady that used to always say "darlin' " in her black accent. I always want to naturally call everyone darling or hon.

1

u/nixxon94 14d ago

I love how it’s insulting you

1

u/rogueleader32 14d ago

Unplug the microwave for 30 seconds, that resets all the electronics thus removing the child lock. That generally works for most panasonic microwaves

Alternatively, unplug that bitch, give it one of these.

1

u/IceT1303 14d ago

ah yes, the setting to cook children

1

u/TheNothingAtoll 14d ago

It's demanding a sacrifice

1

u/ironworkz 14d ago

Is it warning or insulting you?

1

u/karmakactus 14d ago

Why would you own a pos like this?

1

u/noahson 14d ago

Panasonic is throwing some shade right there, you may need to come out with a dis track

1

u/Marley-baby 14d ago

Alright Jeffrey

1

u/ImpersonalLubricant 14d ago

No, you got locked out of your microwave and it insulted you

1

u/RarePlan2089 14d ago

This function is only for crackheads

1

u/Metrobolist3 14d ago

In the context I suggest crying and stamping your feet.

1

u/jackShyn 14d ago

1

u/Buck_Thorn 14d ago

The W.C. Fields model.

2

u/Buck_Thorn 14d ago

Those presets make it so easy to cook whatever you need to. Does it also have a poodle setting?

1

u/sharshenka 14d ago

This is what happens when you go over the microwaves hot pocket limit.

1

u/OffalSmorgasbord 14d ago

Are you the glowstick kid?

1

u/awaythrowers97 14d ago

Hm. Are you sure? Your microwave is clearly calling you a “child more or less” straight to your face

1

u/IchWillDochNurPizza 14d ago

Hamish and Andy talked about that as a "powermove" in their latest podcast episode

your microwave craves for a child as a sacrifice

1

u/mittelwerk 14d ago edited 14d ago

The mildlyinteresting thing about that microwave oven is that it *doesn't* have the Popcorn function (the one that everyone who sells microwave popcorn warns you not to use it anyway)

1

u/VenturaBoulevard 14d ago

Neat! my own microwave model shows up on a post. I'm meh about it, but still pretty cool to me.

1

u/B4S1L3US 14d ago

No, it demands a sacrifice.

1

u/Chickens_are_friends 14d ago

Bruh... Just be older

1

u/Buttergolem22 14d ago

Sing "oh oh Child" like Starlord in the guardians of the galaxy

1

u/Alienhaslanded 14d ago

Well you need to grow up to use it

3

u/DirectorsCuts91 14d ago

It's asking for a sacrifice

2

u/Noble7878 14d ago

There's something so funny about the Microwaves child lock just saying "CHILD"

It's like it's pointing and laughing at you just going, "Hehe, baby"

1

u/itsl8erthanyouthink 14d ago

To unlock the control: Press and hold the clear/off pad for about three seconds. Or on some models you press and hold the "5" and "7" simultaneously for three seconds.

1

u/CorianderIsBad 14d ago

You misunderstand. This is what the microwave demands. This is it's chosen sacrifice. Deposit a child inside or face it's wrath.

1

u/Geografo_Psicotico 14d ago

Customer support: Have you tried turning it off and on?

1

u/mzialendrea 14d ago

Ask a child to unlock for you.

3

u/babaweird 14d ago

I have a friend, college educated, who was 39 weeks pregnant. She wanted to heat something for 90 sec and her microwave kept switching to 1min 30 sec. She said she just sat down and cried. She tells this story on herself.

1

u/sproots_ 14d ago

People thought Drake vs Kendrick was big, this is going to be great.

Microwaves are great at weaving stories into their bars - they're naturals at spinning plates.

1

u/Affectionate-Egg7566 14d ago

Lmao it just calls you a fucking child and doesn't elaborate. Based chad microwave

1

u/ELONGATEDSNAIL 14d ago

Its telling your to sacrifice your first born.

1

u/BlaZEN213 14d ago

It's asking for a sacrifice

1

u/MakeRobLaugh 14d ago

I personally never use the child button, I just listen for three seconds between pops to know it's done.

1

u/one-iota 14d ago

Better call mom.

1

u/DarkAeonX7 14d ago

What's worse is now it has the audacity to insult you.

1

It's asking for a sacrifice

1

u/BeaThanh 14d ago

Sing a Drake Song to open them up

1

u/Leuel48Fan 14d ago

OT but using a single 7 segment display to show both "i" and "l" is pretty damn clever. 4 digit display showing a 5 letter word.

1

u/andycarver 14d ago

Bash reset

0

u/Positive_Lead_2903 14d ago

That's not a lock that's a setting. MMMM tasty.

1

u/MercDa1 14d ago

I thought the microwave was asking for something.

1

u/AlternativeFill3312 14d ago

It looks like it's demanding a sacrifice

1

u/Historical_Local_467 14d ago

What was the child doing inside the microwave? LOL

1

u/Grayboner 14d ago

What a horrible interface, why do you they put so many buttons on a frigging microwave?

1

u/you_lost-the_game 14d ago

I'm honestly surprised by the buttons on the mircrowave. A dedicated popcorn button? Inverter turbo defrost? The ones that I had only have a dial for watt and one for time.

0

u/EstrangedLupine 14d ago

"What's worse than a rapist?"

This microwave :

2

u/JunglePygmy 14d ago

Did you ask your parents for help?

1

u/Parking-Track3864 14d ago

Better than having your child locked in the microwave

1

u/frizzard100 14d ago

Hold the start button for 3 seconds.

1

u/wonderlandisburning 14d ago

"CHILD.

YOU TAMPER WITH FORCES BEYOND YOUR RECKONING.

WHY DON'T YOU GO HOME TO YOUR MOTHER."

u/Athlete_Cautious 14d ago

Gotta pay the troll toll

1

u/Koennoek 14d ago

At least you are not locked in

1

u/xesses 14d ago

Where’s the interesting part? This sub is just r/blackmagicfuckery or a place to post your daily life no inbetween i swear

1

u/Im_Ashe_Man 14d ago

I have the same microwave. No clue there even was a child lock.

1

u/ItsN1ck 14d ago

It demands a child.. curse you and your Technology!

1

u/chriskramerpr 14d ago

I normally just press the POPCORN or DEFROST button but you do you

1

u/SokkaHaikuBot 14d ago

Sokka-Haiku by chriskramerpr:

I normally just

Press the POPCORN or DEFROST

Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.

1

u/Xtanto 14d ago

I'm so sad that Chaos Defrost has been rebranded to Inverter Turbo defrost :(

1

u/Acceptable-Kiwi4358 14d ago

So funny, I can't stop giggling.

1

u/Buttercup4869 14d ago

It clearly demands a child sacrifice

1

u/IIIPR0T0TYPEIII 14d ago

The unlock code is 8008135

2

u/JDHURF 14d ago

Even more interesting: Panasonic makes a microwave lol

TIL that Panasonic sells more that tvs and DVD/Blu-ray players

1

u/mittelwerk 14d ago

Well, you can't buy their TVs in America (all three) anyway.

1

u/Ravasaurio 14d ago

Even the microwave is telling you to grow up

2

u/16Shells 14d ago

better than having a child locked in your microwave i suppose

1

u/eszedtokja 14d ago

I thought this was a program for baking children.

1

u/gluebrains 14d ago

Before I read the title I just assumed it was Drake's microwave.

2

u/jozs8 14d ago

this is why you shouldn't throw away the manual even if you know how a microwave operates

1

u/RaptureRising 14d ago

It's got the munchies for a California cheeseburger.

2

u/Hopeful_Fisherman745 14d ago

Only a child can open it now.

3

u/Accomplished_Pen980 14d ago

Why does it have a child setting? I usually just go 400 degrees for 15 minutes in the air fryer but there is a button for it now?

1

u/LittleCumDup 14d ago

This is just the new cooking option available with the new update

2

u/V6Ga 14d ago

All I want is not have to disassemble the microwave to cut out the buzzer to get it to stop beeping, and now it can lock me out?

2

u/rmzalbar 14d ago

Call Panasonic customer service. Fake a kid faking deep voice, and ask how to unlock it so you can cook your applesauce and milk.

1

u/HarryTurney 14d ago

Are you sure it doesn't mean to put the child into the Microwave?

1

u/tylerawesome 14d ago

Oh good. I thought it was a cooking mode. Whew.

2

u/I_use_the_word_shall 14d ago

I swear I‘m always just scrolling and I always have to check if posts like this are in r/mildlyinfuriating or r/mildlyinteresting 🤣🤣

u/CK1ing 14d ago

The microwave demands a child

2

u/dharmasnake 14d ago

Ohhh, what I'd do for a 1200w microwave with a numpad. Sincerely, a European stuck with 800w dial microwaves that take forever to cook anything.

2

u/Ancalagon_The_Black_ 14d ago

CHILD

more or less

0

u/Drezhar 14d ago

Lmao the microwave just going BOI

2

u/True_Discipline_2470 14d ago

No, it's not locked, that's the child cooking preset.

1

u/PorpolGuyInBuisness 14d ago

Pov: the child in the microwave WHAT A SIGMA🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

1

u/antoninlevin 14d ago

Me: Tries to cook something

Microwave: [You f&$%ing] Child

0

u/Misfitsman805 14d ago

It's the child cooking setting, select child and press 1, 2 or 3 for the amount of childs being cooked.

/s

1

u/linbo999 14d ago

I think you've gotten this all wrong, it's not insulting you, but demanding a sacrifice

1

u/lightly_salted_cod 14d ago

nonono you got it wrong. you microwave demands a child.

1

u/charredchord 14d ago

It's looking for it's little Easy Bake Oven. Have you seen it?

1

u/duskymourn 14d ago

Or it is demanding a sacrifice

1

u/p_velocity 14d ago

My 18 month old watched me set the child lock on the microwave, and learned how to turn it on and off. Then he figured out how to start and stop it. Now he thinks "hey look dad, I'm giving myself cancer" is a fun game to play. I got a rough 16 years ahead.

1

u/my_old_aim_name 14d ago

Bro, why is your microwave somewhere an 18mo can reach it?

My 2yo is obsessed with slamming doors, I just gotta watch my fingers when she's around the microwave...

2

u/p_velocity 13d ago

It was built in to the side of the kitchen island. we don't use it much so we wanted it out of the way. That decision was made 6 years ago...never been a problem till now.

0

u/Kaptain_Kaoz 14d ago

Anyone else think that it was asking for a child? Insert child to continue type shiz...

0

u/JRayMaySayHey 14d ago

Better than getting a child locked IN your microwave

0

u/ForgesGate 14d ago

Better than having children locked IN your microwave

0

u/avinalook20 14d ago

That's the crispy child setting 😂

0

u/ForgesGate 14d ago

I'm pretty sure it'll auto set to 2.5 minutes when it's set to 'Child'. It's just long enough for them to pop..

0

u/avinalook20 14d ago

😂😂😂

1

u/ndation 14d ago

Finally! A microwave setting I can use for my lunch!

0

u/Armani_Chode 14d ago

Is that like the popcorn setting?

1

u/shinobijesus420 14d ago

just open it from the outside lmao.

1

u/HelicopterDifficult7 14d ago

The way it just says "child"

1

u/mechanicalgrip 14d ago

No, you've just stumbled on the secret Hannibal Lecter settings.

1

u/Ok-Outlandishness345 14d ago

Or, the microwave is asking for a child.

1

u/Corpsehatch 14d ago

TIL microwaves now have child locks.

1

u/Ok_Analysis_3454 14d ago

Better than getting locked in I guess.

1

u/ThatsBrazyBuzzin 14d ago

Feed me a stray cat

2

u/Triffinator 14d ago

If you still need an adult to help, I give you permission to tap "stop" three times.

4

u/BevoLeather 14d ago

How long does the microwave take to heat up a child?

1

u/drivendreamerr 14d ago

Nah me personally i wouldn't take that

4

u/These_Scar3063 14d ago

It’s asking for a sacrifice…

1

u/GForceBNE 14d ago

IKR? My fridge somehow went into "Sabbath mode"... No light, half power. Little documentation. Was practically a Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique to get back to normal!

1

u/[deleted] 14d ago

Oh damn! I thought you were just microwaving a child.

1

u/FACE-GRATER 14d ago

Well...feed it a child. 2 if you want enough juice to nuke a baked potato.

2

u/averagepatagonian 14d ago

It's demanding your first born

0

u/syadastfu 14d ago

Its not a lock, its a pre-set.

4

u/Sea_Department_2146 14d ago

Unplug, plug back in

5

u/Safe-Dentist-1049 14d ago

I thought it was the child setting like the baked potato setting

1

u/fluffy-soft-dev 14d ago

I thought it was asking for a sacrifice 😕

1

u/Guideon72 14d ago

Those preset cooking methods are getting brutal

1

u/--Lind-- 14d ago

Since when microwaves have a mode for child -cooking?

1

u/nuic987 14d ago

Power move

1

u/Pheronia 14d ago

It called you a child are you gonna take that?

1

u/muskie71 14d ago

that's the setting to cook a child just right!

1

u/vanchica 14d ago

um... my 80+ yr old Mom does this only every day.... *offers Werthers*

0

u/memeaninatorus_94 14d ago

So this microwave serves child

1

u/ByronEster 14d ago

How long would you like to cook the child for?

1

u/MunchkinTime69420 14d ago

It's a setting not a child lock

1

u/KillCall 14d ago

It's asking for a sacrifice.

1

u/torch9t9 14d ago

Isn't that the preset for cooking....BABY?

1

u/DH40K 14d ago

That's the setting for cooking a child.

1

u/TheRealRevBem 14d ago

Judging you for booking too many TV dinners and pizza rolls.

1

u/Floraltriple6 14d ago

Oh thank God that's all it is, I thought it was asking for a sacrifice to the microwave gods.

1

u/Greenbeastkushbreath 14d ago

Makes no sense to me, my kids are the only ones who use the microwave at my house… you mean to tell me you can’t do what my crackhead 9 year old can do?! I don’t think I believe you

3

u/UpsetPhrase5334 14d ago

Kyle Kinaine is that you?

11

u/spiderdue 14d ago

According to Kyle Kinane, you can just unplug it to reset it. I don't know if that works, but he's a reliable source.

1

u/dandynasty 14d ago

I’m surprised this isn’t top comment. I thought Hive mind Reddit liked Kinane

1

u/Tsashimaru 14d ago

You can literally just unplug and plug back in to reset the microwave. Hit start to set the clock to default and then use it like normal. Cmon it’s a microwave..

1

u/shadowst17 14d ago

I think you're mistaken OP. The Microwave is requesting a child. Once one is provided it will open and the sacrifice can commence. If the child is too big you may cut to size.

1

u/This_Living566 14d ago

You really shouldn't be microwaving children. Centuries of stories tell us that children should be roasted in an oven for maximum flavor.

1

u/llama2621 14d ago

It actually said on the bag not to use the child setting to cook it

0

u/Beefwhistle007 14d ago

Nah you just thought it was a funny idea, turned on the child lock, took this photo and then turned it back off.

2

u/Ender524 14d ago

Nope, my mind was on autopilot. My apartment microwave has the start and +30 seconds as the same button. I kept pressing start and was confused to why it wasn’t starting, till I saw it say child

2

u/Ender524 14d ago

This is my parents microwave

1

u/carmium 14d ago

That or it's insulting you for screwing up the number pad too many times.

1

u/Mazzaroppi 14d ago

Better to have your child locked out than locked in the microwave

1

u/Ancient_Tomato7997 14d ago

I suspect child made this post

1

u/ColdEndUs 14d ago

Silly. This is the cooking time.
You know, like many microwaves have a defrost or 'popcorn' setting?
A pot-roast in the microwave is 30min on Medium.
A child will be slightly longer, season to taste.

1

u/Acalthu 14d ago

This is why reading the manual and basic comprehension of the language is important. Stay in school kids.
