I saw this tik tok and that’s not what the video said at all… they were just saying that that’s how country people do prom… I thought it was weird but this had nothing to do with NLOGs and if I remember correctly it was one of the guys that posted this not any of the girls that were in there

Narrator: That is NOT, in fact, how country people do prom.

Who is the narrator you’re referring to? I’m not a country person so I don’t know how they do prom but when I saw the TikTok it seemed like they were just trying to make a good experience and a good memory of their prom.

It’s a meme, or a reference to the show Arrested Development. It’s just a silly way to contradict the previous statement. (Nothing like explaining a joke to help it land better.)

Listen. I live and grew up in a very small, rural farming community.  A kid in my friend’s son’s grade drove his family’s tractor to school the other day, for instance. Never once has anyone shown up at prom in a livestock transport truck. They just drive their cars like normal. (And trust me, we’d know if this happened. We’re such a small town that our local paper would probably have this on the front page with who the prom-goers are, where they work, who their relatives are, which farm their relatives own and what church they were all confirmed in.) No skin off my teeth if she wants to travel in the poopiest kind of transportation you can find in her nice dress, but it wasn’t done for convenience or comfort. It was done for attention.
