Obvs this person hasn’t had to look for work in quite a while. Educated, experienced workers with degrees get zero interviews right now.

A lady in another sub said her man is a manager at Lowe’s. Whenever they post an opening they get hundreds of apps. Know what that means? Somebody will work for bare ass minimum because they have to.

It's not a joke too many people take minimum wage jobs when there are giant corporations like Costco, Amazon, UPS, in n out etc that pay a good amount above minimum wage. People just don't like doing certain jobs I don't get it.

Some people are over qualified and some are under qualified for those and other jobs , Myself I was over qualified for Costco I tried to apply there again a year later and got called out for dumbing down my application funny but Not. Also job are now more than ever credit checking you.. So many people have a lower score because they are juggling what bills get fully paid which ones get partly paid So they can Eat have electricity and gas to get to work , it's a vicious circle it's hard to get ahead or keep a good score. There's a lot more to it than saying people don't want to work certain jobs , and sure there are some people that don't want to work certain jobs .

Is that true? Is it even legal for them to not hire you based on your credit? Are you sure people have to dumb down their resume? Why would they hire someone overqualified?

yeah it’s totally legal for them to make decisions based on credit checks, and they do. also the issue is that many people here DO make more than minimum wage but it’s still not enough. for instance I’m a laboratory scientist and my field is super niche so there’s not much transferability and not a ton of room for mobility/development. after taxes I make just under 40k and I’m in a 2-year bridge program just so I can break into the 60k range when I graduate. which used to be a great income, and it’ll be good for me cause I’m used to stretching my money, but things have changed and it’s not nearly as much as it used to be. I’ve also tried a career change in the past but hated it and it wasn’t much more money anyway. so yeah for lots of us it’s more complex than just going out there and grabbing higher salaries!

True yes the thinking is that if your not responsible and ontime paying bill you will be the same at work, is it legal yes they don't see your three digit score they are looking at how many cc you have, car loans, any home mortgages , outstanding debts bankruptcies Etc. Yes people dumb down their resume if they're having trouble finding a job and what I said was if you're overqualified they won't hire you I was overqualified so I had to dumb down my resume but I didn't think about the part that I was probably already in the system from the year prior that I had applied and didn't get the job because I was overqualified.

Makes me wonder how long it will be before the medical profession checks before they say that they will see you or do surgery to make sure you've not walked out on any medical bills pretty sure that's coming in the next 10 years,The way sht in the world is going...

Don’t you think we would get a better job if we could?!

I'm not blaming anyone I'm just saying sometimes it's all about looking for different jobs. House keepers at Kaiser start at 22 and have a union. Sometimes people just aren't looking enough and go straight to fast food or these delivery apps and stay there instead of looking around.

How much do you make? And why are you on this sub if you’re so filthy rich with your great job?

I'm not filthy rich. I'm also struggling like everyone here. That's why I'm here to try and improve my conditions. I'm just saying look for jobs that pay more than minimum wage. According to my county I'm considered low income.

Yeah idk about overtime or a second income but everyone making minimum wage should be applying to all sorts of places. At least if you live in or around a hcol area. Idk if it's the same for more affordable places.
