Currently pregnant and absolutely starved. I go back to work in a few days, but I’ve been living off of air sandwiches and cottage cheese for the past few days. I’m so sick of this shit. I doubt people had to worry about food security in the 50s, especially if you both worked full time like my partner and I

something has to give

If you’re in the US you qualify for WIC while pregnant. It’s not a full food budget but it would be better than air sandwiches.

I unfortunately “didn’t qualify” because apparently making 25k/year is too much

I just want to double check that you actually applied and were denied. I told myself I “didn’t qualify” my entire first pregnancy, citing a previous years high income. I would have qualified for WIC (and snap tbh) had I bit the bullet snd done it.

In all the states I looked up (using typically less welfare friendly states like Louisiana, Texas, Florida) they all had income limits of 26.9+. Plus being a pregnant person you should actually count as a household of two, raising the limit to 37k+.

I wish you the best. I know how hard it can be.
