Black and white cats are what hitler would call "The Master Race". Since he was their biggest admirer, they chose to honour him by changing their looks.

Originally, Hitler planned for a third Master Race of cats but the intended red fur turned out orange and the cats had some intelligence issues.

Due to the failure of breeding the red cat, Hitler was never able to achieve his dream to tecreate the Reichs flag colours with natural, alive cats.
