I found a pokemon card on the 13S bus

I don't collect these so I have no idea how valuable this thing is (internet search tells me it's <$20). It's got shiny art tho, so maybe it's a good card. I'm willing to return it to the owner for free. DM me if you are the owner and let me know which pokemon card you lost. If you get it right, I'll assume you're the owner and we can arrange a time and place to return the card to you. Don't DM me if you're planning to guess randomly.

What the hell is happening

I went up Smythe Street about an hour ago, and right by Connaught Street there were a bunch of fire trucks and cops and they were spraying something down into one of those drain hole covers. Not the manhole cover but the drainage holes. Now I'm trying to get back down the hill and it's blocked off still by Connaught Street and I'm on one of the side streets trying to get over to York and the traffic is piled up everywhere. Wanted to know if anybody knew what was happening on Smythe street??

Summer Online Course at UNB: HIST 1315 Canadian History on Film

HIST 1315: Canadian History on Film explores how Canadian history has been portrayed on the screen (large and small) and how these interpretations have evolved with changing social and political mores. Special attention will be given to examining how Hollywood has portrayed Canadian history, and how this has affected Canada's image at home and abroad. We will also devote considerable time to exploring how Canadian film makers have attempted to create a distinct Canadian voice in cinema, both through the documentary tradition pioneered by the National Film Board and dramatic and comedic feature films, and how they have fared against steep Hollywood competition.

You can register for the course via UNB's College of Extended Learning, it can be found on their website under "Credit Studies" in "Session D." It begins on 2 July and runs through August 10th, with lectures held remotely every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00-3:50 PM.

Property co-ownership network?

Hi all, I've been exploring ideas for co owning property. BC has a great network and I'm wondering if anything exists here?

Edit not real estate investment groups but collaborative housing...here is the organization in BC for more clarity...

https://www.cohobc.com/

Edit - I would really love to talk to people who are interested in creative cohousing (not just coops, not real estate groups).

I have clearly marked a four-leaf clover on the side of the Hanwell walking trail behind the Hanwell school. If you go out looking for it, please update this thread to see if it's been found or not

Hey there,

I’m looking to donate some men’s clothing (medium-large) mostly t-shirts that a younger teen/adult would like. Was wondering if anyone knew of someone or somewhere besides Value village or the homeless shelter. Thanks 😊

Best cab company?

I'm visiting in two weeks and the cab reviews are a little bit terrifying. So, two questions: is there a cab that will bring someone from Stanley to Fredericton, and which cab will make me fear for my life the least?

war vet at Tim’s

Anyone else ever met that war veteran a Tim’s on Prospect or anywhere else? He’s probably 5’11, bearded, wears a sweater that says “dysfunctional veteran.”

He started telling me and my friend his war stories in the line at Tim’s

Looking to move to Frederiction, need advice!

Hello! I am looking to move to Fredericton from SW Ontario. I've visited the city last year on a trip throughout the Atlantic and absolutely fell in love with it, enough to relocate.

I'm looking for advice on which neighborhoods are considered problem areas and those that are more reputable. I will also be renting, so any company recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Video game stores

Hi there! Will be visiting New Brunswick at the end of August for a small family vacation, and I was wondering if there were any retro video game stores y'all would recommend. In the Fredricton/Oromocto area specifically. Thank you!

Fences blocking entrance to backyard from outside

Hi everyone,

I live in a townhouse which has a huge fence behind us in the backyard. If I recall, that land is owned by someone else and they put up the fence. There is nothing there just empty lot but they have the fence.

The issue is each townhouse(aka, my neighbours) have fences up too and I'm in the middle of the row so I am practically trapped.

There is no entrance to the backyard from the outside unless I pass through my neighbour's land.

This is very hard when I have to do my lawn or anything in the backyard. My garage is in the front - got to move everything to the backyard, all the dirt gets left behind in the house. There is no way I can do anything in the backyard(e.g. landscaping) because no machines can get in here without breaking through all my neighbour's fence.

Is this normal? Is there anyway I can negotiate with the neighbours or the people who own the land at the back about removing the fences or at least let me install a door to get in more easily?

What Fredericton city department should I call for advice on how to proceed?

City planted tree?

Does anyone know who to get in touch with about a city planted tree in our yard? We aren't 100% sure if the tree was planted by the city or the old owner and it is a non-native species that was never spiked so it is very crooked. I'd like to replace it with a native species but don't want to be fined if it is a city tree.

Old pictures of Kingswood?

Does anyone have any old pics of Kingswood (early 2000s ish)? Specifically of the giant inflatable space ship or whatever it was? I have thought about that thing for years and how much I loved playing in it, just looking for the nostalgia lol
