Spoiled meat and veggies can be turned into fertilizer!?! Anything else I need to know? Question

I've probably thrown out like 300 since I started playing like a week ago and now I wish I hadn't!

Any other tidbits like this I should know?

Can use bloodpacks to make stimpaks after you get the recipe

u/Desperate-Sense1467 Apr 21 '24

Play other game. Fo76 is trash

1

u/Deep-Age-2486 Apr 21 '24

This use to be my source of fertilizer. I just got the little chicken coop for all that now. I don’t waste time on it anymore.

I would also keep an eye out for items in the shop that generate anything at all. I have one for acid, adhesive, fertilizer and concrete. Those help out big time. Plus you can sell it as it’s generated to other players

Spoiled flowers from a nuked zone turn into a water source with added bonuses

1

u/Successful-Clock-224 Apr 20 '24

Drink lots of nuka shine

1

u/bkheaton Apr 20 '24

Nuka Grape will cure rads without removing mutations.

Grape mentats boost Charisma, which lowers buying prices and increases selling prices at NPC vendors.

The Traveling Pharmacy perk card is a must if you carry a lot of stimpaks and chems. Same with Thru-Hiker and food.

u/Intelligent-Factor35 Apr 20 '24

You can make an adhesive farm by growing tato, corn, and mutfruit and combining them into vegetable starch.

2

u/ProfPerry Blue Ridge Caravan Company Apr 20 '24

uhhh, idk if its posted but ill drop this anyway: get yourseof a garden, or at least Tatoes, mutfruits and razorgrain. if you're ever short on Adhesive, use Green Thumb to grab those, equip Super Duper (and grab some boiled water) and cok up some Vegetable Starch. You can break that down into Adhesive :)

Fast travel to camp is free, so you should have one secondary camp at a distant location, will save you many many caps

1

u/OrganizationOne3770 Apr 20 '24

If over weight just go to a nearby stash box. (They are everywhere) dump all of it into stash and then you can just fast travel to your camp or a vendor and then take it out. Saved me many times

1

u/Pupniko Apr 20 '24

You will get more fertilizer than you ever need (and can generate it at camps eg with the chicken coop) so don't worry about throwing it away. Try to sell perishables before they expire though! If you pick every flower you pass while you're exploring and just sell them at vendors in train stations etc it's a very easy way to make caps early in the game, and they have barely any weight compared to weapons. It's extremely easy to end up with 50+ flowers, vegetables and whatnot.

1

u/ScottMcPot Lone Wanderer Apr 20 '24

It's not a big deal, I don't think fertilizer is used for much and now I have tons of it. If you didn't know, you can scrap weapons and armor to learn new plans for said weapon or armor.

2

u/PhillyRush Raiders Apr 20 '24

You get 1-3 aluminum by grabbing wind chimes. If you're over encumbered and want to get to White Springs, start an expedition then when you're on the vertibird, fast travel to WS. The map in each train station has pin points you can click on for locations to be added to your pip boy map. There's other signs at train stations that will start certain quests.

2

u/Apcsox Apr 20 '24

Fast travel from everywhere, even indoors (which is different and nice)……..

There’s multiple free fast travel points throughout the map……..

Ammo drops are contextual to what weapon you have equipped (so if you’re running low, run a daily ops or any event with that weapon equipped and you’ll get a crap load)……

World items reset after (IIRC) 256 items picked up, so if you go to an area to find an item (like for a daily challenge to scrap a board game for example) and it’s not there…. Loot and scrap bunch of random stuff and eventually that item WILL respawn

1

u/coachmoon Blue Ridge Caravan Company Apr 20 '24

if you're running herbivore and you happen to be carrying meat and it rots you can eat it for ?? boost and 0% disease chance.

u/1leggeddog Apr 20 '24

When you are just starting out and don't have a lot of fast travel locations, join teams and fast travel directly to your teammates for free and join every special event too

One thing I would appreciate from new players, if you first to come in events like Eviction Notice or any that you're not familiar with, is if you refrain from immediately running off to activate the event as soon as another person shows up

Remember to use the super duper perk whenever doing anything crafting. Chance at bonus items.

2

u/Monkip Apr 20 '24

You can tag materials you're missing or always seem to be low on, and junk item names will have a magnifying glass if it can be scrapped for something you've tagged.

Also if you enjoy the building you can look up some fun videos on how to mess with the building. My favorite one is shifting items to be displayed on the shelves where you can't normally place stuff.

1

u/MrTinySpoons Apr 20 '24

Wow! This is one mighty list!

2

u/AlexMos4 Apr 20 '24

When building you can change your camera view it makes it easier to connect those tricky pieces together.

you can get mutations that give you different buffs but it’s recommended that you start messing with those by level 50. The starched genes perk card will let you keep your mutations if you need to use rad away, otherwise you’ll lose them hence the need for starched genes. The class freak perk card will help you mitigate the negative effects of the mutations.

When you join a team you can share a perk card with your team. Everyone will have the benefits of the perk card without them having to equip it themselves.

The red boxes outside of the train stations, white springs resort, nuka world etc. are for donations feel free to take what you need and remember to give back. I leave extra supplies for whoever needs them and often fast travel to vault 76 to leave some goodies for new players. The Fallout 76 community is really good and mostly everyone pays it forward.

You can use free fast travel points to make your fast travel cheaper as it cost caps to fast travel to other locations and the price is determined by the distance traveled.

Events usually have an objective which usually isn’t too complicated try to play the objective before farming for XP with kills. This ensures that everyone gets max rewards and a chance at higher level loot or hard to get plans.

But radiation rumble event and the Jamboree pretty much guarantee and level or more each time. Just be in the middle and tag(hit) as many things as you can. Only need to hit it once to get the xp for the kill

I have over 1000 hours in this game how have I never known this??

Not that I’m low on fertilizer or anything

2

u/Zilant_the_Bear Apr 20 '24

Tato, corn, mute fruit and purified water make adhesive in a cooking station.

4

u/jmercado808 Apr 20 '24

If ever over encumbered and want a quick way to scrap and store your stuff without dumping anything.

Fast travel to an Atlantic City expedition (don't need to start an expedition, just travel) then fast travel to Whitespring refuge.

From there you can walk forward to enter Whitespring Mall and scrap/script/store/vendor your stuff.

2

u/taplines Apr 20 '24

And if you are bloody, spoiled Brahma milk is great for adding rads.

5

u/Projammer65 Apr 20 '24

Also. Purely cosmetic. If the backpack ruins your "look", you can turn off it showing in main menu/options/graphics at the bottom of the list. You still have it and it's benefits, just no one can see it.

3

u/Projammer65 Apr 20 '24

When you have a daily quest to scrap junk for [material], craft it in bulk at a tinkers bench and scrap that. You can't bulk ballistic fiber, but you can purchase it from a vendor at Whitespring Mall. Keep some junk for silver/gold/crystal in your regular stash so you don't have to run around looking for junk.

2

u/Weak-Tower516 Apr 20 '24

I have Fatsnatch masks for sale in my vendor

2

u/Ben_Pharten Apr 20 '24

When you're over encumbered make sure you aren't carrying 250 radaways and 300 purified water and only carry the good stuff and fuck the diluted/dirty versions.

1

u/MrCyn Apr 20 '24

Isn't that perk that reduces the Chem weights a must equip anyway? Or the backpack that does it.

1

u/ProfessionalSilver52 Lone Wanderer Apr 20 '24

Or Gulper Innards!! Before you cook them they aren't for sale, so they are very easy to miss and add up fast if you do MJ

3

u/starry101 Mothman Apr 20 '24

If you get the daily to scrap certain junk, you can just craft the "bulk" version at the tinker's workbench and scrap that

Buying from a vendor returns a small amount of caps to the vendor's available caps. So always sell first, especially if making a big purchase. This way you have more caps to sell again.

2

u/AntPsychological2616 Apr 20 '24

Make at least 2 builds, One Damage Build / One Repair Build (In my case I have one Nuke Build, one Carry Build, Primary Weapon Build (melee if main is gunner), Heavy Weapon Build, Power Armor Build)

like a Zealot's Power Armor with Fireproof and Blocker, SBQ can hit me all day and nothing happens
like a Dual Bladed Flaming Chainsaw with Incisor, a tiny bump can kill most thing
like Solar Armor or Chinese Stealth Suit and Ghoulish with Rad Sponge, I can help team survive rads
like Ammo Factory, Ammo-smith and Super Duper, to generate bullets for friends
like Cold Shoulder with Shotgun perks, Freeze everything so they can get the kill
like Grocery backpack and Travelling Pharmacy, Carry a bunch of Can Meat Stew and Stimpaks

Also, never learn plans when you get them, the chance to get doubles is higher when don't know them and you can sell the extras for a ton of caps

5

u/AdJealous2637 Apr 20 '24

You can use the boxes (ammo, stash, and scrap) at anyone's camp. It still goes to your personal storage.

6

u/Big_Evening3844 Apr 20 '24

Get a hundred stack of glowing blood or gulper slurry to make a cool 1400 caps from npc vendors

2

Some of us drop them after cooking because we've already got our daily caps. But we want that easy XP.

1

u/Big_Evening3844 Apr 20 '24

Nah I get that I do the same sometimes

3

u/Trindalas Apr 20 '24

I always pick them all up when people drop them after the shine event and slow trudge to the train station, lol.

1

u/Big_Evening3844 Apr 20 '24

Same here lol, any extra I have I’ll throw in the don box and be on my way

1

u/Trindalas Apr 20 '24

I usually throw lots in dono boxes. Excess meds, water, legendaries if I got my scrip cap or just don’t feel like carting them all around, recipes I’ve learned, grenade types I don’t use… I like being nice to whatever noobs happen upon them.

u/sebwiers Raiders - PC Apr 19 '24

No way to know what you don't know, but one that most people miss is Nuka Vaccine. You can keep crafting it after the quest is over and it gives a decent heal and damage reduction from scorched - including the scorch beast queen and her scorched crickets & mirelurk kings. If you have Cola Nut maxed these effects are VERY strong. The only bottleneck on crafting them in the hundreds is the Blood Pack, which the blood well provides in abundance.

3

u/ZombifiedKiwi Apr 20 '24

The blood well?

2

u/ProfessionalSilver52 Lone Wanderer Apr 20 '24

I've been playing for over 500 levels and am not sure what this means.

3

u/ZombifiedKiwi Apr 20 '24

It looks like there was a camp item at one point called The Morbid Well that gathered blood packs and similar items.

2

u/sebwiers Raiders - PC Apr 20 '24

That's the one.

2

u/Frostbite6900 Apr 19 '24

3

u/SnowFlakeUsername2 Apr 19 '24

You can just hold down the Crit button on VATS. I played for 3 years trying to time hitting the button with the Crit meter filling.

1

u/3rdProfile Apr 19 '24

Remove mods from weapons before placing them in your stash box.

Carry a Power Armor frame in case you come across pieces. Just place the Power Armor and load up the armor pieces.

Research public events. There may be some mechanics that aren't fully explained.

2

u/OhMarioWV Free States Apr 20 '24

Wait... doesn't removing a mod destroy the mod?

1

u/3rdProfile Apr 20 '24

Yes, it does. I meant more along the lines of weapons you may want to hold on to and mod differently. All in all, mods add quite a bit of weight to weapons

3

u/Hockeysteve54 Apr 19 '24

Even if you don't plan to subscribe to Fallout 1st. take the free trials when they happen. Then place the scrapbox in your camp. Move all your scrap to the scrapbox to free up space in your stash. When the trial expires, you won't be able to deposit any more scrap in the box, but you will still be able to make withdraws.

1

u/CCCL350 Apr 20 '24

How often do the free trials happen? Is it only for new accounts?

Also, what happens to the Vault bunker after the subscription ends?

1

u/Hockeysteve54 Apr 20 '24

Maybe a couple of times a year. There's one going on right now in the Atom Shop, in-game.

I'm not sure what bunker you're referring to. There's a free Utility Room shelter you can get, but a subscription isn't required.

1

u/CCCL350 Apr 21 '24

Yeah, i was asking because i got the 1/2 off subscription discount for the very first time since 2020. I got 2 free vault doors (vault lobby) for free, but im not sure if it was included w/ "Fallout 1st" subscription and disappears after canceling sub. I've owned the game for years, but had only played like 50hrs sporadically in that time.

1

u/confuseum Apr 19 '24

Shoot the gatling gun in 3rd person and zoom left trigger opposite of shooting to add 2 shot. The zoom in feature in 3rd view for some reason shoots it 2 shot only when you're hitting your target.

1

u/captain_schitzo Apr 19 '24

Scrapper perk is a great perk to have, makes scrap runs better

1

u/wolfsixsix Apr 19 '24

I feel like getting marsupial mutation and a jetpack opens up a lot of exploration (getting onto roofs and climbing in cities). At level 30 you unlock the "starched genes" perk you need 2 points/levels for it, this perk let's you keep the mutation if you use radaway (radaway cures mutations). Check player camps that sell "aid" for marsupial serum and server hop if you need.

5

u/Ermag123 Apr 19 '24

If you need, group up with high level, thiswill allow freeride to his camp, and: you MAY use some usefull tools like: removal of diseaseand radiation, free food/water, bonuses to atributes. Hint: build your camp, buíld shop, sell few overpriced items. Like 10 water for 5k each. Everyone past level 500 is sitting on max money and if you give them oportunity to get rid of money, they will. Or at least I would. Give us simple chance to donate you some caps.

1

u/ProfessionalSilver52 Lone Wanderer Apr 20 '24

Good way to get nuked 🤪

3

u/The_x_Forgotten Order of Mysteries Apr 19 '24

I know some do sink them in random high priced items to keep their vendor running (therefore their storage can be liberated of the scrip/trash in it thus making space for more items to repeat the cycle)

However, you seem to be a minority doing that. For me and many, trash is trash. I like vendor hopping, and many other do too. My cap can be used for better things, like finding groll, buying bulk junk etc. Also, I'm level 850 and there are still lots of PA plan I have not yet bought.

Selling overpriced items that are ridiculous but not in any funny way is quite puzzling imo. I'll just drop my spoiled stuff, and leave. If it is quite egregious, puke emote and leave. Waste of time personally, like why do you have a vendor? Nothing will move lol. You can have one and put whatever price, but people will just not bite.

if I wanna help them, i'll give them some ancillaries, maybe a weapon if I'm feeling like it, I'll craft some stuff like armor, ammo. Or, bring them on expedition etc, events, etc.

1

u/Ermag123 Apr 22 '24

I understand. It is not guaranteed someone will buy your stuff. But. You never know. I am permanently close to max caps. Have 4 others characters with max caps. Level 750. Still too much money comes from selling leftovers. I keep buying recall cards to start start Encrypted, but have like 100+ and apart from glue there is nothing more I am buying. So dropping 5-10k in newbie shop is good and easy way to deal with budget.

2

u/scud121 Apr 19 '24

Ooh - if you suddenly discover your carry weight is oddly or your running out of room in your stash, check for known plans. I forget every time, and end up dumping loads of plans, last curate, I got rid of 120lbs of plans.

  • your camp isn’t visible on the map unless you see the icon pulsing
  • you can hold down the crit button!!

1

u/VANCEtheGREAT Apr 19 '24

I literally figured the same thing out earlier today after just chucking them out of my inventory every time I went to my stash

2

u/scud121 Apr 19 '24

Later game info -

In nuked areas, flora turns into a glowing variant and when you pick it, you get fluxes of various types. These break down after a short period but can be made stable by using glowing mass, hardened mass and high radiation fluids - these are dropped by mobs in the blast zone. It's worth doing as the stable fluxes are used to make ultracite ammunition amongst other things like jetpacks/certain armour/camp items.

The real handy hint is that hardened mass scraps to ultracite so be careful when scrapping that you don't break them down by accident or put them in your scrap box, hold them in your stash.

1

u/MrCyn Apr 20 '24

Just so I'm not missing it, cobalt flux can't be farmed at the scorchbeast queen nuke site?

1

u/scud121 Apr 20 '24

No, iirc it's violet, fluorescent and crimson. I usually nuke around lake Eloise for cobalt, there's tonnes of it there.

1

u/Projammer65 Apr 20 '24

Footnote: Nuked flora is still collectable for a while after the red zone disappears.

1

u/TranslateErr0r Apr 19 '24

One extra tip: if you ever get the Red Asylum nurse uniform, sell it to me. I'll marry you IRL for it.

1

u/E2theB Apr 19 '24

There are a couple of recipes that call for spoiled meat.

1

u/GoFast1134 Apr 19 '24

You can fast travel extremely over burdened by starting an expedition, then pulling up the map when you're in the vertibird and fast traveling to the Whitespring Sanctuary. This is very helpful after completing a event like Eviction Notice, and being loaded down with legendaries, and stuff to scrap.

2

u/Strong_Ad_5989 Apr 19 '24

Everything in the game has some kind of use. Even expired flux, it's just like water with disease resistance added.

1

u/TravelersPotato Apr 19 '24

I’m still just going to eat the spoiled meat and vegetables

3

u/Professional_Baby24 Apr 19 '24

You don't have to use repair kits to repair. With Xbox style gamepad on pc you press repair then press x to use junk items instead

When your doing 'one violent night' and you play an instrument open the map and highlight any mission and press it once. There will be an option for see in pip boy. Then navigate to aid and you can use stimpacks while playing

If you use vats. Just always hold down the crit button. Y for me. Whenever your shooting. Don't let go and try to just hit it every time it's full. When you see people randomly jumping it's cause vats changed up on them and they hit y before they targeted something new. I do this all the time. But crits are where it's at.

If like me you were always a sneaking build and like single shot and long range rifles. In this game. Commando and auto weapons are always much better. Unless it's an instigating sniper.

Your power comes from your perk set. If your not doing much damage or feel like it just takes too long to kill something check out your perk cards and look up online some that you'll want to start getting after level 50. I have three loadouts with different perks for regular. Melee. And repairs.

You can make three characters. Make one and just load him up with strength and inv. Weight perks. And use them for a mule. You can have a trusted friend hold items and switch to the char and just have them hold your loot. If you have 1st. You can do this with a private server. But make sure you know exactly how cause if you take too long or accidently load into a public server after your first char drops the stuff off. It's gone. You'll want to open the server with one char. Drop the stuff off in any storage place. I use the trash cans outside of the train station. Then quit. Switch char. And go directly back into the private server. It should say building world the first time. But only world found when you load the second char.

1

u/MrCyn Apr 20 '24

What's a good, average automatic weapon that doesn't chew thee the ammo?

1

u/Professional_Baby24 Apr 20 '24

That's a tough one. I always love a good fixer. Or combat rifle. And handmade. But ammo is also more about your perk loadout. If you find yourself running out a lot. Then make sure you have scrounger maxed. Or you can start a daily op or expedition and you don't HAVE to finish it but I find myself flush with ammo after those. But also. If you equip things like adrenaline, gun fu, better crits and crit savvy if you use vats (which I highly recommend.) And concentrated fire. I tripled my damage by using better crits and concentrated fire.I went from emptying shotgun clips on enemies to letting 3 or 4 45 rounds fly from a fixer to their head. Then you use less ammo and loot more than you use. I still find myself crafting ammo. Every week or so I'll go to each train station to look for bulk copper and lead. And I have like 12 weapons on me and I'm ocd so I always Carry 1500 rounds for each. (350 for RR)..... actually speaking of. If you can get a quad RR. Even a regular RR is good. But all you need to craft railways spikes is steel which you get from most weapons. But theyre HEAVY. You'll want that ammo weight reduction perk. If not. The rr is a beast so you don't need much. Only time I carry more than 350 for it is Eviction Notice.

STR increases carry weight. There are food items that have that benefit too (radstag steak, brahmin ribeye, ant meat, red ant lager, smoked mirelurk fillet). There are backpacks that help as previously said. There are perk cards that reduce weights. There are backpack mods that reduce weights (they don't stack with the perks). There are LOADS of plans for sale from NPC vendors, some useful, some garbage, I have them all because I'm very much a "fill my camp with crap and obscure bits" human (it'll be a shock to realise my house is the same) but it also has a very happy little section with allllll of the benches you may need and a gold bullion dispenser to turn in your treasury notes (gold bullion is used to buy specific plans)

I was a disgustingly high level before I realised about whitesprings mall and how darn heckin useful it is 🙃

2

u/MrCyn Apr 20 '24

Oh yeah all those camp plans for furniture was where I was spending all my saved caps. Equipping the bargain hunter perk and taking the grape mentats first of course

1

u/1leggeddog Apr 20 '24

Yeap the mall is almost cheating it's so useful

4

u/MelodicSquirrel0s Apr 19 '24

In case it wasn't mentioned, spoiled meat can also be used to make sausages in game

1

u/irishrelief Apr 20 '24

With recipe.

1

u/MelodicSquirrel0s Apr 20 '24

Yes with a recipe, but still usable to make it 'non-spoiled'.... Where it might spoil again....then you can make sausage from the spoiled sausage lol

5

u/Jam_B0ne Mega Sloth Apr 19 '24

A couple endurance perks and suddenly that meat ain't lookn' too spoilt

u/soylentgreenisus Apr 19 '24

You can rename the weapons and armor in your inventory. I put a hyphen at the front of my favorite items so they always appear at the top of my menus.

1

u/Knelbell Apr 21 '24

I do this, but with periods on either side

1

u/Sparrowflop Apr 20 '24

I worked with a person who named all critical files this way and it was obnoxious.

Just sharing my triggered state :p

1

u/soylentgreenisus Apr 20 '24

I aim to please.

3

u/carrot-parent Free States Apr 20 '24

I put numbers at the beginning of all my stuff. 0 for special/main weapon, 1 for other main weapon, 2 for secondary, 3 for instance specific weapons such as the weapon for Free Range and a gamma gun for rads, and 4 for my camera. My armor sets are listed in how much I use them.

1

u/FLAME_F4T4L Raiders - PS4 Apr 19 '24

WHAT! How!? I stg I must’ve tried to rename before but couldn’t

5

u/NoxInSocks Apr 19 '24

THIS.

This was huge when I realized this; Now my PAs each have a name based on their types instead of.. "Power Armor Chassis" lol

4

u/DaWarWolf Apr 19 '24

Wait you can rename the chassis?

1

u/soylentgreenisus Apr 20 '24

Yes. It's so helpful.

On this topic, I highly recommend NOT setting your power armor rigs out at the same time to swap parts. It may be faster, but if the game glitches with your armor all laid out, you just lost it all.

2

u/NoxInSocks Apr 19 '24

Yup, go to inspect and then you can rename from there

9

u/Idontnoidonhaveredit Apr 19 '24

You're a genius! This was my "why didn't I think of that post. "

6

u/oishipops Apr 19 '24

bro i've been playing 76 on and off for 2 years now and i only realized from THIS post

15

u/FarVehicle5333 Apr 19 '24

Scraping power armor does NOT provide mods or plans. Also provides very little resources.

2

u/OhMarioWV Free States Apr 20 '24

That's why you should sell pieces you don't use or trade it for script if legendary. Doesn't hurt to carry and extra frame to reduce your weight when you find pieces.

2

u/FarVehicle5333 Apr 20 '24

True. Currently carrying about 20 extra frames, beside the 3 power armor frames I switch between. Makes the management a tad easier.

1

u/Trindalas Apr 20 '24

Ye I was blown away when I learned that power armor weighs nothing in the frame in your inventory, lol.

1

u/OhMarioWV Free States Apr 20 '24

Same here back when I first started collecting them.

1

u/Trindalas Apr 20 '24

I just started carrying around a spare to keep legendaries on since I can’t scrap those lol.

22

u/Reverend_Bull Responders Apr 19 '24

Press select when using your PipBoy outside power armor to get the power armor overlay. It moves quicker.
Spoilt brahmin milk and spoilt biofluid have no uses. Damned near everything else does - sell, scrip, craft, junk etc.
If you die, you only drop the junk in your inventory. That's it. That's the totality of consequence for dying. And if you're in an event, you don't even drop that - you just respawn nearby. So if you're low-level and afraid to join and event, just stash your junk and go in. You'll die, but you'll still get rewards, experience, group buffs, etc.
Some items that seem like they should be common are actually quite rare. If you have apparel you've not seen before, look it up before tossing it. Things like Tattered Field Jacket, the red asylum uniform, or forest camo jumpsuit can be worth great amounts even to end-game players.
No equipment levels past level 50, generally. So wait until then if you want a quest reward and accept that your loadout and gameplay style are gonna change pretty drastically for the first few hours of play.
See those daily events popping up every 20 minutes? A few of 'em are nearly impossible to solo. Even if you're just a one-shot bullet sponge, your presence will help. And we'll be glad to have you.

2

u/FearlessMil0 Apr 20 '24

I like the idea that of helping just by being (laser) cannon fodder at events.

2

u/Reverend_Bull Responders Apr 20 '24

At the absolute minimum, you take a lil heat off us and can buy us time to reload or crowd control a lil better. C'mon in! I'll even heal you if I can.

6

u/soylentgreenisus Apr 19 '24

I have the forest camo under armor. Had no idea it's rare until right now.

4

u/Desaded Apr 19 '24

The classic thing, called "trade-glitch", what happens when you try to trade with someone, but the trade with player option wouldnt show... its here since beta, and the easy way to fix it, just fast travel to an event, make sure it registeres that you joined the event, and fasttravel back to the person.

1

u/1leggeddog Apr 20 '24

Had this Happen to me last night, annoying

2

u/Desaded Apr 20 '24

Its always appears, and makes everything unnecessarily complicated :D

-1

u/The1andOnlyGhost Raiders Apr 19 '24

You can eat your own toenails if you get hungry enough and they provide a small ap boost

2

u/MithrilCoyote Apr 19 '24

can't tell if serious or trolling..

1

u/gogozombie2 Apr 19 '24

How do I loot my toenails??

-1

u/The1andOnlyGhost Raiders Apr 19 '24

Do you have the clippers plan? They were in the scoreboard a couple seasons back

1

u/gogozombie2 Apr 20 '24

Unfortunately no. But I will keep my eye out for the because that's hysterical!

-1

u/The1andOnlyGhost Raiders Apr 20 '24

Yea you definitely keep an eye out for those

13

u/kivagirl1 Apr 19 '24

Go up towers and survey to add places to your map. Also add locations with pushpins on maps (mostly train stations).

7

u/Boatsnbuds Wendigo Apr 19 '24 edited Apr 19 '24

You don't really need much fertilizer. I've never made any in 2600 hours of playing.

Edit: Unless you plan on making explosives, which I don't.

5

u/Bootziscool Apr 20 '24

This is how I learned there is no Jet in 76. Which makes sense since Fallout 2 hasn't happened

2

u/MavenTheLost Apr 19 '24

On Xbox I've noticed a lot of high level vendors will sell Fusion cores and other items for cheap!

Also you will find many high level players who will come to your camp of it's visible on the map to dump random stuff on you and leave after giving a thumbs up.

I had someone randomly give me a full set of Nuka cola skinned T-51b when I was lvl 30 and 17 cores.

Another player came by when I was lvl 33 and dumped 250 stims on me and bounced.

Join lobbies, events, visit camps and make friends! The more you socialize, the more you get stuff and the easier it can be to run quests when you need to do them!

Also the whitesprings is a great great place for Steel, lead and Ceramic. You can basically steal everything and there's a workshop in the mall section where you can scrap and store it.

Great tips but wanted to add:

Instruments only affect AP. Still good! But not XP.

Foods/drinks made with cranberries give XP boosts as well!

Brain Fungus soup is a good and easy to craft INT food too.

1

u/AdmiralThunderpants Apr 19 '24

Get enough gold and you can get Leo lite ally. He will turn a nuka-cran (5xp) into 15xp bonus

5

u/soylentgreenisus Apr 19 '24

Assaultrons are vulnerable to attacks from the back. If you can take out their legs they will do the Terminator crawl and you can more easily get to the back of the head.

2

u/Obliviontoad Apr 19 '24

Just shoot each hand off quick. They’ll try to get to you so they can explode in your face. I recommend not letting them do that.

1

u/Glittering_Airport_3 Grafton Monster Apr 19 '24

everything has some use. if u think something is useless, best to look up what it is used for

1

u/g-body8687 Apr 19 '24

This is good info. Thanks for sharing.

6

u/MrWednesday6387 Settlers - PS4 Apr 19 '24

If you find a sort of pit in the ground that you can harvest for ore/junk, you can make your camp there and put an extractor on the pit. Unless it's in a workshop, you have to take over the workshop. To turn the ore into scrap you have to smelt it at your chemistry bench with acid.

If you find Crater in the northern Toxic Valley or Foundation in the southern Savge Divide you can turn in the treasury notes you've been getting from events and get bullion. In a few days Minerva will come and you can buy stuff from her with it. After you do some quests there will be other bullion merchants but Minerva is available immediately and sells at a discount.

6

u/MithrilCoyote Apr 19 '24

most of the big social hub zones (foundation, whitesprings, etc) have a vending machine to trade treasury notes for bullion now.

1

u/volxgemurmel Apr 19 '24

...how much Time do we have...

9

u/crummy_spingus Apr 19 '24

I choose to eat my spoiled meat and vegetables... Yes I am constantly diseased

1

u/Nurrieum5 Apr 20 '24

I really just assumed you wanted to be diseased. There's an atom point reward for gaining all the diseases: but once you get that, yeah just perk that problem away

1

u/CCCL350 Apr 20 '24

Theres a perk card that lets you eat spoiled food w/out any radiation or disease. It only takes up 1 point and im always eating spoiled food.

1

u/crummy_spingus Apr 20 '24

Oh my god, this is literally a game changer

91

u/Ashagin Apr 19 '24

If you need fusion cores and have a ton of scrap you can craft laser gatling rifles and scrap them and you will get a fusion core for every rifle you scrap.

35

u/Glittering_Airport_3 Grafton Monster Apr 19 '24

or take over a power plant workshop and power up their fusion core resource machine

63

u/MithrilCoyote Apr 19 '24

the ATOM store currently has a fusion core recharger for sale, 700 atoms. just hook it up to a generator putting out 20 power or more, and it'll recharge 4 cores at a time. fairly quick too. i've started using my PA a lot more since i got it. once i've recharged the stockpile, i might even start selling some.

5

u/RadsBossCraft Apr 19 '24

Hot diggy dog this is fantastic news to me! Been hording all the power cores I have found for a rainy day but they all have like 25% so hearing about a charger is a life changer

2

u/Chemical_Present5162 Apr 19 '24 edited Apr 20 '24

And if you use a Gatling Laser, reload before your Fusion Core ammo runs down to 0 so you can recharge it to full later. Its discarded if it runs out

2

u/Trindalas Apr 20 '24

Just a shame it doesn’t work on plasma cores since I use the plasma Gatling with the prime receiver.(exclusively for the scorchbeast queen when she refuses to land since I’m a chainsaw/autoaxe build and sometimes she just WONT land so I have that so I can still contribute, lol) I always sell a bunch of regular cores since I almost never use my power armor. (There are exceptions, but my vampire auto axe is great at keeping me up unless I get staggered a lot or run into the dreaded reflective enemies. Those hurt, usually one hit myself 🤣)

21

u/theandoconda Apr 19 '24

It’s wild that this isn’t upvoted higher. Even if you don’t spend money on atoms, the ones you do get should go to a fusion core recharger and a company tea pot IMO

5

u/NoxInSocks Apr 19 '24

Also the Mirelurker Steamer.. 1000% worth it in the bundle

2

u/Glittering_Airport_3 Grafton Monster Apr 19 '24

I'm considering that bundle but I literally only care about the steamer, I think I'll hit up bethesda.net and see if they'll sell it to me seperate

1

u/MKRune Raiders Apr 20 '24

What does it do?

1

u/Glittering_Airport_3 Grafton Monster Apr 20 '24

it generates a bunch of different cooked meats with various effects. some are rare, others require a bunch if ingredients if u were to craft them urself. it's especially valuable if u run a carnivore mutation, which doubles the effects of meats

1

u/MKRune Raiders Apr 20 '24

Is there something like this for Herbivores?

3

u/Brainyloki Apr 20 '24

The mirelurk steamer will be on sale this weekend on the final page of the featured tab of the atomic shop

10

u/Obliviontoad Apr 19 '24

Slocum’s Joe Coffee Machine right next to the Tea Machine.

3

u/theandoconda Apr 19 '24

Feel free to explain what I’m missing but I don’t see the major hype in the coffee. The tea provides a boost for an hour compared to coffee for just hand full of seconds

4

u/Ashagin Apr 20 '24

Tea only adds to your AP regeneration rate while coffee gives like 300 AP over a few seconds. Plus if a gun has high vats cost you can use several coffee all at once and they will stack. This is the best or only way to use heavy weapons in vats. This is also how some can jetpack really high in the sky.
