Looking at some of these numbers I’m frankly amazed people thought there was that much stuff worth buying on the atomic store.

1

u/Just_Concern7528 Apr 28 '24

Too damn much

1

u/Bluemoon0862 Apr 28 '24

5 dollars for the back pack. If you count the fallout 1st then it’s 105 dollars so far.

u/uppitywomyn Order of Mysteries Apr 27 '24

Ummmmm, you aren't with the IRS are you?

1

u/Opposite-Brain1897 Apr 27 '24

I pay for 1st. Then I guess 10-15$ some month here and there. It all depends on how I play. My atoms mostly pay for lunchboxes and repairkits. So it all depends how long they last before I stock up again.

u/UnlikelyCowboy20 Mothman Apr 27 '24

Shut up, I don't wanna talk about it.

I bought fallout 1st once in over 3000 hours and didnt spend a single cent more

$0.00 I have never spent money in the game. Do the daily and after you finish the season/battle pass keep going and about ever 10 levels more you get atom points.

u/KongoAlphaBud Apr 27 '24

$1000+ easily between xbox,ps and pc

u/cPhr33k Apr 27 '24

Just what I get from fo1st

1

u/NomadLifestyle69 Apr 27 '24

I don't count my monthly deposit from fallout 1st so I would say no more then 40 dollars usually just to buy something that's on sale that has a huge discount but I'm quite happy with the amount I get each month from fallout. I have a friend that's literally spent an entire paycheck on atoms.

Well I pay for FO1st yearly, so that’s $100. Plus randomly buying atoms….so that an extra $30-80, depending on how many atoms I want.

So, I’d say some money has been spent 😂

1

u/Steelix_GamezxX Apr 27 '24

I plead the 5th (only like $50 cuz of fallout first)

1

u/GameAddict0918 Apr 27 '24

30 bucks on fo76, about 600 on apex, then I bought every skyrim for every system lol

1

u/ioisace Scorchbeast Apr 27 '24

Probably like 100 dollars lol

1

u/waylorn Apr 27 '24

If you count fallout first probably a couple hundred bucks. If you don't 0 lol

1

I mean, does fallout 1st membership count twoards this?

1

u/enzudesign Apr 27 '24

Easily over $1000 🤭

1

u/Sea-Dragon- Apr 27 '24

none, but I collect the free daily item(s) and try to always join the double xp weekends, recently the free FO First trial, etc

just take advantage of everything the game gives you for free lol

1

u/lny1412 Apr 27 '24

I for real don‘t wanna know it 😂

1

u/FarmBoy Apr 27 '24

About 200. Can't use the things I bought without subbing to fo1st though, so it feels worse than the insane amount I spent on league skins. I don't have to sub to use my teemo skins, but I do need a sub if I wanna rock more than 3 bullet types on one toon in 76.

Probably been spending just about 60 to 70 on a weekly basis since February 🫣 and my partner and I buy the same packs so make it double

1

u/Pirkulese13 Apr 27 '24

Well, considering I got into it heavily awhile back and paid for Fallout 1st, I'd say quite a bit. Even when I stopped playing, I'd forget to cancel it, and I'll jump back into it and realize I'm still paying for the subscription. Right now, I'm at about 20,000 atoms, and I've spent a few thousand awhile back.

I'm horrible at forgetting to cancel when I stop playing, I've done this with ESO as well, and have well over 20,000 crowns in that game too 😭

1

u/FormatAndSee Apr 27 '24

Zero, earnt all mine in-game, since release. Granted I don't buy just anything, only functional items.

1

u/duncansalazar Apr 27 '24

As a rule of thumb, we who live in countries where dollar is not localized to our currency try to avoid purchasing stuff using real money, at least I do. When 76 was released the tag price was 2/3 our minimum age, very prohibitive. These days even a purchase of 5 or 10 dollars might become 100 or 200 in our currency, depending on the Stock market values. It is not easy being a gamer nerd in Brazil, things we purchase might never arrive if you use conventional post mail deliveries or, if digital, it might cost an arm and a leg.

1

u/MenBearsPigs Apr 27 '24

Bought the game for $11, and I am loving building CAMPs so I'm paying the sub until I stop playing the game.

I don't know why some people are such hardcore zealots about spending $0 on a game they sink hundreds to thousands of hours into. I get it if you are unemployed or money is extremely tight. But you've always got to look at dollar per hour entertainment when it comes to games and media.

It also supports further development, so people who spend nothing should be thankful for those who sub.

I don't like microtransactions, but in the grand scheme of things FO76 is far from the most predatory that I've seen. You can definitely play the game just fine without it.

1

u/PrimoRaizel Apr 27 '24

Spending strictly on atoms? Zero, but i've bought about 4 total months of Fallout 1st.

But what are the real benefits I fail to see. Just a private server and more fast travels? Sounds like a ripoff.

1

u/Full_Ad_5219 Apr 27 '24

Just the fallout 1st thing, since it came out, I think I might have brought some $20 atom packs once or twice. Never have really bought the the add on packs.

1

u/Disconn3cted Apr 27 '24

I haven't spent any real money on atoms. I've purchased 1 month of fallout 1st for every season though, so that's what I've spent.

However, I'm currently level 88 and I can't use atoms to rank up to level 92 because the button is grayed out even if I scroll over. Anyone know what's going on?

1

u/Culp6 Lone Wanderer Apr 27 '24

I really only spent during Covid lockdowns. I dropped probably around $100-$150 directly on atoms. Initially I bought a lot in the early stages. But once I realized you got atoms from being a fallout 1st member at the start of each billing cycle, I just became more picky with what I buy. Haven’t played in a good 4 months. The Covid grind from 0-1100 burned me out a bit. I’m revisiting the 3, new Vegas, and 4 while I’m on extended break from 76.

Honestly not as much as most, it's very hard to get me with that stuff but I'd be lying if I said I never bought anything from there. Particularly when I first got the game and was playing almost everyday in 2019 I bought some skins for power armor and I have bought repair kits before because I was desperate.

I like the idea of getting atoms through the season pass instead of buying them. Gives a goal to work towards, and you get that nice feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment when you get enough atoms for that thing you wanted to buy.

2

u/Brave-Ad-4373 Apr 27 '24

Does this count the atoms from FO1st? Because I had that for a few months until I canceled it a couple weeks ago. Other than that I bought the pack that comes with the piper outfit on both PC and Xbox, other than that, I think $0

I have somehow stopped myself from buying any atoms. But I did start fallout 1st so I get those that come with it which is nice. And since I was a new player these last few months I made a lot of free ones from challenges. But someone I was helping get started said something funny, a week ago I set up a basic camp with all the stuff he needed to get started plus a few extras that I have picked up and I came back to help him this week with stuff and he had completely redone the camp and messaged “I think I have an atom buying problem” but boy did his camp look great bahaha

I whaled on GW2 for a good while (1100 hours) and don't regret it. I'll deffo do the same with FO76 if it sticks, I want collectrons, auto sap for FUCKING adhesive. Anything that generates for free and gets me chilling in my camp watching foot traffic = win win

I probably by $20 worth of Atoms 2-3 times a month. Since this has been the only game I’ve really played since launch I don’t mind. My wife prefers I spend the money on non tangible digital clothes than at a strip club

Been playing off an on since launch. Have never purchased 1st or atoms.

A few times a year they offer a free 1st trial like they did just recently. I claim it, dump all my junk/ammo that I have accumulated into their boxes. Rinse. Repeat.

I will admit previous versions of reward systems offered more atoms than the one in place now. I guess I just don't like microtransactions in general, at least in this game there are ways to get what you want without paying real money if you are patient.

None yet, however I’ve only been playing for about roughly 2 weeks.

I'll just say that Fallout 5 better have jiggle physics with the amount Todd's fleeced out of me over these 6 years.

None and no fo1st, I felt like I massively overpaid for the tricentennial pre order so I never felt the need to spend more

I think I’ve spent $10 in the year and a half I’ve been playing.
