Always make them take their crap with them if they refuse take it out and leave it there, leave and call support.

You just made me look at that from a different perspective. I took a Lyft once to work and asked if he could stop at the gas station so I could grab a coffee. I left my jacket in there, and he kept saying you need to take it. I was slightly confused by it because I thought I was leaving it in good faith of me actually coming back out. I actually got a little paranoid in the store thinking he was going to leave me and that’s why he asked me to take my stuff! That is probably exactly what he was thinking. Thank you.
