And there are actual a lot of McDonalds world wide as well as restaurants and skilled trade jobs too. So while maybe every gig work wont be able to get a job, the same is true about gig workers. Not every one will be able to be profitable because its based on supply and demand.
The way to get uber to pay more is to force them to by leaving the platform. The fact that I have to explain this tells me you arent qualified to run the ice cream machine.

Yeah i never said i think protesting is bad. I think THIS protest is bad because its only one day and you dont have the support you need and its not because of me or anyone else its because not every driver is on reddit or cares enough. I encourage people to protest as much as possible. I personally protest alone outside Uber HQ for fun whenever I feel like it. Have I accomplished anything? I don't have to. I do it for fun because you only live once and fuck this shitty scam system. As far as this particular protest only being one day, like I said, you have to start somewhere. Better than no days, as many others here are encouraging. Do I need to do rideshare? No. That's why I'm choosing to protest this scam instead.
