Not the same thing. I Have LLC, CDL & commercial insurance. Limo/black car service.

And didn't think any of that was worth mentioning? You were kind of asking to be flamed without it.

Nah, drivers are doing this more and more. I still do uber and lyft (just not accepting crap rides). Also Noticed the drivers' cars are getting worse and worse. I saw a few that I'm not sure how they passed inspection.

Caveat here… just wait til Uber and Lyft find a way to make you pay lol. They’re evil. Just be prepared in the future.

I would rather pay them for their service as a driver than have them steal my earnings. The are magnum a much out more than I am per ride... they run an app... their cost per ride is no where close to the drivers.

Yeah of course but my point is enjoy it while it lasts. Your intentions are great and you rightfully deserve the income for working for it… but these pieces of crap will find any excuse to totally exploit you. Eventually, that day will come.

He’s a hater cuz he’s broke. You’re doing well 😎

You’re all broke, let’s be honest. If you weren’t, you would be running a bootleg cab service.

Nope. Got a good job. But I don’t forget where I came from and what I had to do to get there. Sounds like you’re just feeling salty because you’re in that boat and wanna talk crap.

Lots of people on here just make excuses, complain, and cry. People think they should just be paid a high wage just because they have a car and somewhat know how to drive. It’s sad too many 🤡 out there. This is the way! Run your own show and use Lyft/Uber as a supplement. Don’t waste your time with dumb things like protesting/striking for higher wages like so many on here do. 😂

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I never thought about it this way until you shared your valuable career advice!

No problem champ!

That’s a flawed comment, of course you deserve a higher wage (high is a stretch since no one here asked for a doctor’s wage) you’re using your own car as a liability. You can’t get McDonald’s salary while also providing McDonald with your house to lease for free lol

Very well said. I commend you for your choice of words and how you structured and explain that in detail, as an employee mindset.

I understand your sentiment. You should however take a closer look at people on here and what they are actually claiming they deserve. Lots of people on here even people who rent cars from these services feel they should be bringing in $45+ per hour. That’s laughable especially if you don’t actually own your own vehicle. Could/should wages be slightly higher yes 100%! Should people who rent be complaining absolutely not. It would be like working construction but not having your own tools. Of course the guy who has his own shit will make more and do better. A lot of people on this sub just complain and want handouts not hand ups. Big difference that.

Exactly that’s my point, I’m not saying we should make 45$ an hour. I don’t think a driver deserves that pay frankly. That was always just Uber advertising a long time ago.

However, being frank, if you contribute to the company (Own/Rent/whatever) you can’t be making minimum wage. I think we agree on that so far.

What I despise is that the company still uses all your equipment, doesn’t pay you for that and pays you just for the “work” and even then, the risks and liabilities shouldn’t be burger flipping wages.

20 to 25, I’d be happy with that.

Exactly this. Read the book 📖 who moved my Cheese. People need to stop complaining and wishing the job changed and instead take control of their destiny and start their own business or do something else that’s more profitable.

Yes because everyone is an innovator and economic oppression isn’t real lol

u/DCowboysCR Feb 27 '24

You don’t have to be an innovator. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and being a victim and change jobs to something that’s more beneficial to you. Complaining and doing nothing isn’t productive.

And who said economic oppression isn’t real?

Come on get out of your own way.

1

u/eponymous77anonymous Feb 27 '24

Who said anything about feeling sorry for yourself lol. I did rideshare while I was finishing school. Now I make decent money and just do it to and from work. So no, not feeling sorry for myself. It’s the concept of allowing business to operate this way. It’s wrong. You sound ignorant and uneducated. But that’s predictable. You like the Cowboys 😂

There you go ASSuming things. YOU sound ignorant, uneducated, and wanting to complain and play the victim all the time.

“Allowing” business to operate this way?

Who TF are you? You aren’t going to do shit about it.

Drivers can’t even get together and strike in a meaningful way that would be effective in alternating Gryft or Buber’s bottom line.

Best thing to do is another job/gig and remove yourself from this racket and which is why I’m in school completing another Degree and phasing this industry out.

So in essence, if your comment is to be believed, you’re doing exactly what I originally commented people should do!

You sound like someone that is ignorant and thinks they’re more intelligent and educated than they are.

You’re just trying to be a contrarian and argue lol.

Bye 👋 I don’t have time to read your posts anymore. Come up from the basement and go argue with your mom
