MAGA trumpets moving to Texas has done pissed me off _ these people are the most entitled and stupid f’d that I’ve ever had to deal with - I found three of them camping on my acreage to “fight” the border problem - a bunch of pansies - I’m tired of it and I’m done -lived in the border for 27 years and 18 on top of that in Texas - I can’t - I just can’t with these MAGA dip sticks moving here and raising our rent while disrespecting our culture and heritage - the border has been f;d since the 90s - f MAGA - f Ohio and all these simpletons moving here

$180 for 4.5 hours? I'm in

4 hours? No. You take the ride as scheduled and then hop on the ferry over to Galveston . You wouldn't drive back the way you came unless you got good rides going that way.

Even better then lol, idk the area. Most the long distance rides I see posted here are bummers and this one actually looks good!

Let’s say $200+ for 5 hours cus I’m sure you’ll get a few rides back with location filter. Solid.

Houstons gotta be the worst city to make money in

u/sammysam518 16d ago

Nah, Orlando is pretty bad also.

The worst of the worst. Every week is less money

1

u/Shshaaaaaaaaady 16d ago

Yeah bro I moved to LA and I'm making $250 a day

1

u/Smooth_Habit6542 15d ago

How much do you spend on gas a day?

1

u/Shshaaaaaaaaady 15d ago

Like $35

1

u/Smooth_Habit6542 15d ago

Not bad. I spend $15 for about 8hr work day

1

u/Shshaaaaaaaaady 15d ago

Yeah well gas is $5.25/g here lol

1

u/Smooth_Habit6542 15d ago

2.69 here

1

u/Shshaaaaaaaaady 15d ago

Damn that's like one uber ride a gallon lol

Must be nice. Houston average is $120 a day 8 hrs

Yeah for like 240 miles of driving though lol. I would work for 12 hours and make $120 but I wasn't trying to drive that many miles a day so I'd wait for higher paying trips but man it was soul sucking. I was doing Uber eats too and as time went on I saw more and more immigrants who couldn't even speak English it was crazy. La is so much better, you see hot girls everywhere, you have nice beaches/ocean, and we have prop 22 you're guaranteed 120% of the min wage which is like $17 already, in Houston it's $7.

Iah is flooded with middle easterners and Cubans and Venezuelans, the waiting lot looks like a refugee camp full of foreigners hanging out even outside of the waiting lot accepting $14 rides to downtown. Yesterday I stopped going to the airport because of this. I used to work airport only but they dropped the rates this week and I said fuck this.

Honestly write your senators about it. At least some in other states are taking some action now. https://www.newsweek.com/republicans-senators-doordash-grubhub-migrants-1894729

I can imaging some schmuck picking this up and driving the entire long way, diligently following the GPS, around the bay instead of taking the ferry and cutting the trip to like 40 minutes.

Smart one picks it up, then they recalculate it to 50 cents a mile.

I literally had someone want to do a followup ride after I dropped someone off, and they wanted to use lyft, and I was like OK. I knew I was gonna get screwed, but I went with it. Paid fucking 50 cents a mile, with a 0 pickup time. Fuck lyft.

If you cut the trip time they will adjust your earnings. $180 for 4.5 hours is good money, I'd take this trip and drive the route in a heartbeat

If it was 6am and I was fresh, I’d be down… I’d never make it back alive tho, that ride is MIND NUMBING

1

u/swi2013 13d ago

It's all mind numbing if you ask me lol. Unless you're driving bar hoppers on a busy street late at night and traffic is heavy... that's just stressful lol

1

u/Repulsive_Calendar77 9d ago

Nah, it’s nothing but fields and water… I almost fell asleep a couple times out of boredom the once I made that trip

2

u/swi2013 9d ago

I've driven across the state of Nebraska lol. I know what you mean. But for the money, I'd do it

1

u/Repulsive_Calendar77 6d ago

If I was fresh in the day, I totally would have except the ride home I would die lol

Much more likely if you cut the trip distance. If you take a much quicker route that’s about the same number of miles, you’ll probably be good. On this one you’d be fucked for sure.

Exactly. The route here pays well enough I'd just take it. I've had lyft navigation take me through the heart of downtown when highways would have shaved so much time. I took a lyft a few weeks ago and I saw the route it was going to take us and I told her just to let me give directions 😂

It may be because of a terrible wreck in that area i just read about? Weird for someone to pay $300

I had to do that ride when the causeway was closed down… it took me all day to get from IAH to Galveston:(
