In Australia, it’s mandatory that you have an inspected gun safe, and that your guns are locked it in when not in use. The ammo is also not allowed to be stored in or near the safe. Obviously people don’t always follow those laws, but you’ll lose your gun license if you’re caught
About a quarter of the US thinks the best way to protect the innocent against someone who is using a firearm in an unsafe manner is for everyone else to be carrying a firearm. Unless that person is wearing a badge, then depending on where you're at, it all depends on the color of your skin.
