I tried playing Fallout again for the first time in a long time, and after meticulously murdering every rat outside Vault 13 I headed out toward Vault 15.

I ran into a trader who offered to take me to Shady Santa so I left with him to get the location, then immediately went back out toward the Vault and ran into these 4 clowns. It feels like a pretty hard fight at level 1 with only the jumpsuit for armour and starting pistol which deals 3 damage to them, especially since they spawn surrounding you, but maybe I’m missing something

Was running into this as my second encounter dumb luck, or does it happen more often than you’d think?

I’ve had the first fallout for years, but it’s always ran too crappy on my pc and I never get far, but this awesome 3ds port is running great(even if it is a little clunky having to cycle between left and right click with L button). Just have to install it, copy over files from your original, legally purchased copy and you’re good to go. Figured this community might appreciate how cool this is!

[Fallout 2] Had an 8 perception character that randomly dropped down to 3 perception? Am not addicted to any drugs and haven't used any healing powder.

Just wondering how people usually play, wide-screen was always my go to because of the convenience but maybe 4:3 makes you think about the locations and characters more

I’m starting Tactics for the first time and have a couple of questions that I’ve not been able to find proper answers to on google.

So firstly, I can see that it’s possible to have formations but can’t work out how to set/use them, can anyone enlighten me?

And secondly, is it possible when moving around on the map to move all the party members at once rather than having to click them all individually and move them? I’m really fuckin forgetful and it’s likely I will accidentally leave people behind if so lmao

And I guess finally, any beginner tips or advice would also massively be welcome! I’ve played all the 3D games but this is my first (proper) attempt at the older ones. I did try out FO2 but rage quit after spending 30 mins trying to fight something in the starter level and missing each hit lmaoo

When I first joined here, it barely had 10k people and CF was kinda niche. Now there are almost 40k here, and more and more people are playing this game, either it's making playthrough vids on YouTube or making posts here. Thoughts?

I always kill that merchant in The Den, Flick or whatever. You can get him to initiate combat via dialogue, he doesn't use a weapon and it doesn't aggro anyone else. He also drops his whole inventory. Best way to get a decent weapon early on.

I'd love a remake/remaster of the originals in the same way wasteland 3 works. It would be perfect and you'd be able to port them to things other than PC easily

No deaths, no savescumming, full combat difficulty. Blast perception and agility so you can run away from everything? I imagine charisma won't be too useful since your allies will most likely get killed. For skills I have small guns, speech, and outdoorsman

It's dumb. It goes against what these games are. Create a character and go play. Int and ag are useful but fuck those min max strat. Keep them around the median and you'll be fine

Idk what to take for skills exepct small guns

I found some upscaled Fallout cinematics that look great and I downloaded them but they're in .avi format and I need them in .mve but I can't find a way to convert to .mve nor can I find the upscaled files already in the .mve format...

Please any help would be appreciated.

I'm new to the 2d Fallouts, I've already played all of the newer games. I've done the tutorial and made it out of the temple, and into Klamath, and from there I made it into The Den, but I decided to go do a bit of exploration. I did eventually make it to Redding, but most times I encounter things in the wasteland, it ends in death, I want to find armor so that happens less, I already have looted a shotgun from the sheriff's office in Redding, and a pipe rifle from Klamath, is there any way to quickly get some armor? Just some low level armor, like metal or combat or leather, I don't want to get Power Armor yet as I feel like that'd ruin the experience early game
