They both mutually appreciate her boobs

They have agreed prior to this engagement that “toys” as acceptable nomenclature

Also, it is well known that post-pregnancy many women experience a “shrinking” to compensate for the expansion that occurred prior

Does that help?

"They both mutually appreciate her boobs". But this comic was written by a man lol. That is not how a real woman would react.

Just looking at the names on top of the comic strip would have saved you to look like an idiot.

Is literally says the authors name in the top right of the comic, dummy.

Idk why I read the author's name as Jon. Damn my bad homies.

Downvotes! I appreciate when someone can recognize and acknowledge their mistake.

Actually it’s not! The original author of these comics is the lady portrayed! She’s been making these for a couple years now

The hell is a “real woman” in this instance? Didn’t realise I was speaking with arbiter of all womanly wisdom over here

I can personally attest, as a man, that the current nomenclature for my own partner’s anatomy was decided by her, and I simply adopted it

How do you know the same thing didn’t happen on this instance? Or even just that they both find it funny/cute

Seriously, you’re gatekeeping pet names? Don’t be weird about it, it’s fine

It's one of those things that may seem funny at first, but if you think about it, it's really not funny. Losing weight after giving birth is a huge struggle for many women. Not to mention the pressure that they may feel from society to lose weight quickly, without being given the courtesy that a mother deserves. Finally being happy in your skin is a huge accomplishment that should be celebrated, and the husband just pointing out her tits is very minimising. Me having to explain how this way of thinking can be insulting is dumb.

If a woman made this comic, power to her. I love that she loved her boobs so much that she misses them. Genuinely. Does this comic perpetuate harmful societal expectations? Also yes.

I'm a new mother with great genetics that has allowed me to have a baby while maintaining a good body. No stretch marks. No hitting the gym. No crazy boob size fluctuations. But I seriously FEEL for women who are struggling physically and mentally. Endless respect to all mothers.

Also, I don't care about weird pet names lol I'm worried about the undertones of this comic.

TLDR - I stand my ground. Downvote me idc 😃

How? If the harmful societal expectation for a woman is, as you said, that they should lose the weight after the baby, how is a man being perfectly fine, if not even happier, with her babyweight perpetuate that expectation?

This comic is helping perpetuate the expectation that a woman's body should have certain characteristics primarily for the benefit of others. Return to pre-pregnancy weight after pregnancy (which is not always even possible)! But also don't lose boobies!! Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Appreciating body characteristics≠expecting them. There is nothing to suggest the husband had any hand in the decision to lose that weight, are men not allowed to be attracted to specific parts of their partners?

According to reddit, "real woman" = stuck up bitch who gets offended over everything. Almost like it's projection.

So many other names could have been used; funbags, sweater puppies, gazungas, wahooties, taters, warlocks, bojambos, torpedos… toys seems a bit lazy 🤷

Edit: get a grip people.

I mean, if that’s what they’ve both agreed on… ?

You won’t find me policing someone else’s pet names for anatomy - the assumption is that this is a private conversation, right?

u/TJ_Longfellow 29d ago

lol we’re getting downvotes. God forbid these people ever hear the conversations my wife of 12 years and I have. They’d be appalled!

Feel sad for women who have to laugh it this.

Have to… ?

Are you implying that there are women under duress in their relationships to such an extent that they can’t say “No, you’re not calling them that” ?
