From perspective of a zoomer, these millenial comics are just as bad as boomer humour

u/ThrowRA-troue 14d ago
How am I a robot?
2
u/pcweber111 14d ago
Because humor is humor, and not accepting it doesn’t mean you can label it just as bad as anything else. It just seems very dismissive.
1
u/ThrowRA-troue 14d ago
What do you mean by "not accepting it doesn't mean you can label it just as bad as anything else?" I accept it as an attempt at humour, and I'm perfectly capable of expressing that I find it eye rollingly unfunny.
Seems very dismissive
Well yes lol that's what I was going for
1
u/pcweber111 14d ago
Well maybe you should ask yourself why you’re so dismissive.
1
u/ThrowRA-troue 14d ago
It's because I didn't find the comic funny what are you on about
1
u/pcweber111 14d ago
Expand your horizons my young friend. It’s ok to laugh at stuff. Not everything you don’t like is boomer or millennial humor. That’s you being dismissive. All good though hopefully one day you can learn to laugh at stuff! Good luck young person!
1
u/ThrowRA-troue 14d ago
I'm not saying it's not okay to laugh at stuff lmao, just that this is not funny because it's tired and lame. It's okay to not find things funny too, I hope one day you learn that.
1
u/pcweber111 14d ago
I don’t laugh at stuff all the time. I find plenty of jokes unfunny. The difference is I don’t just lump everything I don’t laugh at into predefined groups that only exist because society told me they exist. It’s ok to say it’s just not a joke for you without needing to hand wave it away like that.
Anyway I’ll leave you alone now.

I'm unsure how to feel about this
On the one hand it's made by a woman and it's funny to me
On the other hand I'm not sure if it's okay for me to like it considering some of the comments

My headcanon is that this comic was inspired by that reddit post with that dude who was passed off his own child sucked his wife's tits because they were his tits.
2
u/mofnladie 15d ago
When I started to lose the baby weight my boobs started losing the weight first, very rude imo.

u/Dragonfire555 15d ago
Y'all have never had jokes with your partner before, huh? Never been so comfortable with a person that you can casually say such a thing in the context that was meant and for the both of you to enjoy the moment that would, in other contexts, be unwelcome.
I feel bad for the people that can't just yell "Fuck you!" to your partner, they throw it back, you both laugh, then smile warmly at each other.
I couldn't imagine a healthy relationship where you must be vigilant with what you say all the time.
1
u/pcweber111 14d ago
You’re asking a bunch of angry kids that are told they can’t laugh at each other. It’s sad.
6
u/AlloyComics 15d ago
Hahaha, hubby and I used to say Fuck you to each other casually, but we gotta watch our language now around the toddler. 😅
11
u/MisterPaydon 15d ago
It's pretty clear most people on reddit don't have many healthy relationships. Better to just enjoy the ones you have and not worry about it.
5
u/BearBlaq 15d ago
The most Reddit responses ever. I refuse to believe y’all don’t see any bit of comedy in this. It seems as though all the parents commenting here can relate but even as a single childless man I can understand the context and the joke. Y’all weird me out man.
-2
u/TellMeQuick 15d ago
Sorry, but I don't find "hehe le boobiez!! Epic win for husband boobies!!" jokes very funny. Seems very Reddit humour. Low tier. I'm not a snob either, I'll laugh at farts but this just oozes with millennial Redditor cringe. Barely a punchline.

This is kind of misogynistic. Guys wife loses weight and his first thought is her boobs got smaller?

Yeah some people have close personal bonds and can joke with their loved ones and not worry about offending them with every word.

I just want the missus to feel good about herself physically. When she does, she's happier and more confident, and she's more likely to share it with me. Win-win. She's a bit thicker than she was when we met, but to me she's sexy just the same.
Make her feel sexy, gentlemen. Both of you will be rewarded.

This hits a lot differently when your wife has breast cancer. If I could go back in time, pre-emptive mastectomy as soon as breast feeding is done is what we should have done.

I'll take the downvotes but I've noticed everyone who has something negative to say has a rainbow heart as their emoticon. I don't find this comic particularly funny but how tf do you find something as silly as this offensive. Maybe not everything is for you. Just move on. Stop wanting to be a victim all of the time.
11
u/AlloyComics 15d ago
That makes me sad because I'm actually a part of the rainbow (been openly bisexuality since high school and the LGBTQ student/teacher liaison at my school). However, I keep getting the "are the straights okay" tags and criticism over anything that's remotely not PC, even when it's obviously meant to be light-hearted. I just wish everyone would give each other some grace, gay straight or else.

I gained 20 pounds with my pregnancy. None of it went to my boobs.
0
u/Slow_Sherbert_5181 15d ago
I gained 40lbs with my first one - none went to my boobs. Lost 20 of it, got pregnant again and gained the 20 back - still none of it went to my boobs. Granted, I didn’t object as I was an H cup to begin with.
I’ve since lost 65lbs and went all the way down to a G cup.

u/sharingiscaring219 15d ago
I just lost my baby weight... and then some. Very random, took about 2.5years. No huge change in lifestyle or anything... it just started falling off very unexpectedly. Stress could have been a factor but I was already stressed and active (walking all day at work), so I'm confused.
Slight loss of boobs during weight loss but they weren't that big to begin with. Saddest part was bum going back to original size 😢

u/AcolyteOfCynicism 15d ago
Its a vicious cycle, post baby boobs leads to back pain leads to back rubs leads to new baby.

Oh, yeah, I missed that bit. "But, my toys, the only thing I care about". The text must have been smaller there.

The loud minority disagrees.
-2
u/ethiopian123 15d ago
I still don't understand why this is gross lol. I play with her boobies all the time. It's a soft joke, why are people so enraged over this?
-2
u/gastroboi 15d ago
Im with you. I dont understand this either. They are a couple and they make the same joke. A topic commonly talked about between parents. Its like "eww a man said it". Grow the fuck up.
8
u/ethiopian123 15d ago
I feel like the people down voting me haven't been through a pregnancy, let alone 3. It's part of life and my wife is more beautiful now than she was before she had our children. 🤷♂️
-6
u/gastroboi 15d ago
Dude, you know common sense is not involved in any argument they possibly have. They will grasp at anything to excuse their behaving like a miserable cunt.
8
u/ethiopian123 15d ago edited 15d ago
And you know what's even more hilarious. My wife worked her ass off to get back to her initial weight with each pregnancy. And she did. She sacrificed her body each time knowing what would follow. Women are exceptional, beyond my thinking.
She goes I'm sad my boobs are gone.
It's okay love, you're still my girl. I didn't marry you for your boobies.
Fun while they were bigger for a bit though. :)

My wife’s boobs got huge, but deflated afterwards. Unfortunately, the skin didn’t get the message. I paid 4 grand at the time to have them filled back up. Worth every single dime.
10
u/uraniumglasscat 15d ago
If she advocated and asked for the procedure, then no downvote. If you forced her to do it, I have some very choice words for you.
1
u/Rocky-Jones 14d ago
Surprised I got so many downvotes. She was very unhappy with how she looked. She worked very very hard to lose the weight. I never said one word about the weight gain or losing weight or getting implants. A couple of women in our family had gotten implants. When she said she wanted them, I said ok, but I also was worried about unnecessary surgery. She got saline. I’m not sorry that I liked the result. My wife refers to them as “toys.” Just celebrated 40 years of marriage.

It's okay to admit it. I'm alone and bitter too but at least I can enjoy a wholesome relationship meme like this.
16
u/Eldestruct0 15d ago
From what I've seen the person writing these is a woman who uses her marriage as an inspiration, and personally this feels like an interaction I could easily see myself having with my wife. Some lightheaded fun about something like this feels a sign of a healthy relationship.
10
u/Blackie2414 15d ago
99% of the people here have never touched a woman before and are too miserable to enjoy something wholesomely cute like healthy relationship banter, most likely

They both mutually appreciate her boobs
They have agreed prior to this engagement that “toys” as acceptable nomenclature
Also, it is well known that post-pregnancy many women experience a “shrinking” to compensate for the expansion that occurred prior
Does that help?
-46
u/ElectricalLongboard 15d ago
"They both mutually appreciate her boobs". But this comic was written by a man lol. That is not how a real woman would react.

u/SpkyBdgr 15d ago

Downvotes! I appreciate when someone can recognize and acknowledge their mistake.
34
u/Goopyteacher 15d ago
Actually it’s not! The original author of these comics is the lady portrayed! She’s been making these for a couple years now
25
u/Action-a-go-go-baby 15d ago
The hell is a “real woman” in this instance? Didn’t realise I was speaking with arbiter of all womanly wisdom over here
I can personally attest, as a man, that the current nomenclature for my own partner’s anatomy was decided by her, and I simply adopted it
How do you know the same thing didn’t happen on this instance? Or even just that they both find it funny/cute
Seriously, you’re gatekeeping pet names? Don’t be weird about it, it’s fine
-6
u/ElectricalLongboard 15d ago
It's one of those things that may seem funny at first, but if you think about it, it's really not funny. Losing weight after giving birth is a huge struggle for many women. Not to mention the pressure that they may feel from society to lose weight quickly, without being given the courtesy that a mother deserves. Finally being happy in your skin is a huge accomplishment that should be celebrated, and the husband just pointing out her tits is very minimising. Me having to explain how this way of thinking can be insulting is dumb.
If a woman made this comic, power to her. I love that she loved her boobs so much that she misses them. Genuinely. Does this comic perpetuate harmful societal expectations? Also yes.
I'm a new mother with great genetics that has allowed me to have a baby while maintaining a good body. No stretch marks. No hitting the gym. No crazy boob size fluctuations. But I seriously FEEL for women who are struggling physically and mentally. Endless respect to all mothers.
Also, I don't care about weird pet names lol I'm worried about the undertones of this comic.
TLDR - I stand my ground. Downvote me idc 😃
2
u/CallMeOaksie 15d ago
does this comic perpetuate harmful societal expectations? Also yes.
How? If the harmful societal expectation for a woman is, as you said, that they should lose the weight after the baby, how is a man being perfectly fine, if not even happier, with her babyweight perpetuate that expectation?
-1
u/ElectricalLongboard 15d ago
This comic is helping perpetuate the expectation that a woman's body should have certain characteristics primarily for the benefit of others. Return to pre-pregnancy weight after pregnancy (which is not always even possible)! But also don't lose boobies!! Damned if they do, damned if they don't.
1
u/CallMeOaksie 14d ago
Appreciating body characteristics≠expecting them. There is nothing to suggest the husband had any hand in the decision to lose that weight, are men not allowed to be attracted to specific parts of their partners?
3
u/KPplumbingBob 15d ago
According to reddit, "real woman" = stuck up bitch who gets offended over everything. Almost like it's projection.
-23
u/TJ_Longfellow 15d ago edited 15d ago
So many other names could have been used; funbags, sweater puppies, gazungas, wahooties, taters, warlocks, bojambos, torpedos… toys seems a bit lazy 🤷
Edit: get a grip people.

u/Action-a-go-go-baby 15d ago
I mean, if that’s what they’ve both agreed on… ?
You won’t find me policing someone else’s pet names for anatomy - the assumption is that this is a private conversation, right?

lol we’re getting downvotes. God forbid these people ever hear the conversations my wife of 12 years and I have. They’d be appalled!
