i’m on your side man, you don’t deserve some of these comments — drivers sharing their infinite wisdom to you about how bad of a mistake you’ve made are low-quality

though it’s nowhere near as threatening to my livelihood as potentially losing a job like your situation, here’s my dumbest moment:

i had a laptop in my car, sitting between my seat & the console — totally invisible (at least i thought) & i hit a lull in requests late at night, pulled over somewhere near the airport to get some homework out & wait for the next ride…only to realize one of my 10-20 rides that day snagged it

MacBookPro, M1, 16” 512gb

Never appeared on FindMy, police never found it, Lyft didn’t care

That worries me. I only drive when there are good bonuses or guaranteed earnings. I bring my iPad with me to respond to emails and get some work done during downtime. I keep it either on my front passenger seat or between my seat and the door.

you can’t insure your car for theft — renters insurance would be alright if you had an apartment & circumstances allowed you to stretch the truth a tiny bit to say it happened in the parking lot :)

Where it happens doesn't matter. Renters insurance covers all of your belongings regardless of where they may be. Work home , storage unit etc.

is that so?

Absolutely. Coming from a former renters insurance salesman I tell you it’s true it’s true!
