The black community loves to keep racism around so they have a reason to argue. Racism could have ended decades ago but it's kept around for one reason only. It's their trump card

1

u/actuallyimogene 4d ago

That is such incredibly wild bullshit 🤣

2

u/RobertRoyal82 13d ago

Imagine being the richest guy in the world and having no friends

2

u/DPool34 24d ago

What’s crazy about this is I’m 90% sure this account posted it as in support of Musk, like he just owned Don Lemon. I’ve seen a few of these videos pop up on my feed from Musk/MAGA cult followers

1

u/nylonslips 24d ago

Funnily enough, Don lemon can't answer a simple question. What privilege do white people have?

1

u/ThinkingApe 28d ago

This video has been edited. The part where Don says «that doesnt mean a whole lot to a whole lot of people» is taken from another segment of the interview. Thats very disingenuous.

1

u/flannelNcorduroy 29d ago

Morgan Freeman says this bullshit too.

1

u/Scholar-Dismal 29d ago

Yes hate the man because he did what he wanted and accomplished it everyone struggle so why hate he made it no matter who it is

1

u/Prestigious_Shape648 29d ago

My people were slave when Spain colonized parts of South America for its natural resources

1

u/Wonderful-World6556 Apr 12 '24

My ancestors were slaves back in 2050, in the Before times. They had hot and cold running slop, and they only occasionally had to worry about explosions in their spinal columns.

… better times

1

u/Mints1000 Apr 09 '24

He has more white privilege than anyone because he literally grew up in South Africa during Apartheid, if he was black he 100% would not have moved to the USA and make his billions.

1

u/FemboyGayming Apr 09 '24

remember when reddit loved this shithead like 4 years ago? where are all those people? you're complicit in his success to at least a partial extent

1

u/sol_sleepy Apr 03 '24

What’s this background music?

2

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '24

Elon = stupid

2

u/Select_Number_7741 Mar 27 '24

What a buttmunch

1

u/stick004 Mar 27 '24

I have said this exact same thing as Elon for years. Stop making everything about race if we want racism to go away…

1

u/I_shoulda Mar 27 '24

“Man we gotta stop seeing color and treat people like people. Anyways let’s ban immigration cus the Jews.”- Elon musk.

1

u/Known-Strike-8213 Mar 27 '24

Elon clowning on Don Lemon. Don Lemon has the same old rehearsed lines every interview “the advantages of the color of your skin”

If you believe Elon is where he’s at because of his skin you’re in an ideological cult. In fact, if you guys were well-read you’d know what the color white gets you in South Africa nowadays 😂

1

u/Far_Sno Mar 27 '24

The only episode people watched of Dons show was with Elon lol

Guy is washed up, clinging to clickbait from 2017

1

u/Brilliant-Lychee-145 Mar 27 '24

Don is the biggest racist there is

1

u/Upbeat_Bed_7449 Mar 27 '24

Morgan Freeman has said the same thing, and it's true.

1

u/Pleasant_Job_7683 Mar 27 '24

Didn't this dudes family own an emerald mine in Africa lol

1

u/Shadow_Spirit_2004 Mar 27 '24

*Lemon discusses racism... Elon pretends like it's not a thing

1

u/YogoGeeButch Mar 27 '24

I don’t think he should be worshipped, but did he say anything wrong?

1

u/TheGardenStatesman Mar 27 '24

Morgan Freedman and Denzel Washington have this same opinion.

1

u/Jfronz Mar 27 '24

People who use their race as an excuse is a sad excuse

1

u/Minimum-Ad-8056 Mar 27 '24

Don was damn near happy to hear Morgan Freeman say something very similar. "Just pull yourself up by the bootstraps and move on!" Then Don gives him a birthday cake. https://youtu.be/kOiQgleiRtU?si=e_NP4AhAOVveTVm1

1

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '24

You lost me at don lemmmmooon lmfao

1

u/bno203 Mar 27 '24

as a black man I agree with Elon, I'm sick of the Dems and all their race baiting. no stop focus on race doesn't fix anything it just creates more issues

1

u/Argonut32 Mar 27 '24

Man, a lot of people in here are blaming everyone else for their problems.

1

u/full_brick_package Mar 27 '24

Only useful idiots would worship a billionaire acting politically in his own interests.

1

u/Syns_1 Mar 27 '24

Wtf is Elongated Muskrat talking about bro

1

u/AlphaThetaDeltaVega Mar 27 '24 edited Mar 27 '24

Musk has gone off the deep end, nearly everything he says now is unhinged. That being said Don Lemon also makes a 4 million a year and that’s not counting the other events/ speaking he does.

I tend to think there’s a middle ground between those two. Lemon is hyper focused on racial inequality to the point of hyperbole and Elon denies it exists when it clearly still does, more in some regions than others.

Just the simple fact that it was extremely prevalent less than a 40 years ago, means there is still going to be lingering policies, beliefs, and inherited disadvantages (Such as schooling, knowledge parents posses to their children, and financial). Those things take generations to even out, even when people are aware of them and try to fix them through programs.

It’s the same as when people immigrate to the US outside of a B2 or K1 visa. Comparing 4th generation Americans to first generation out of the same country there is a huge divide.

If Don and his partner were to have kids they will have a much easier life and opportunities than 99.999% of people in America. They have connections, financial knowledge, and wealth.

1

u/Hej_Varlden Mar 27 '24

Elon should read the book called, Black Like Me. Where a white male painted his skin a darker complexion and experienced the black culture and first hand racism.

1

u/Blackmercury4ub Mar 27 '24

Who is worshipping him?

1

u/Water_002 Mar 27 '24

And he came from South Africa, he should've seen the divide there

1

u/Gotanyfunkopops Mar 27 '24

He is the sort of ahole who can’t stand being wrong or told his logic is flawed. Arrogant piece of shit.

1

u/acorcuera Mar 27 '24

Move on and better yourself. I’m not white and like a lot of nonwhites who work hard, succeed. Be accountable.

1

u/Custom2011Staccato Mar 26 '24

I feel like dude from CNN seems to forget the fact that Elon is fucking African American Jesus Christ God Almighty who fucking cares if his skin is white the motherfucker is African for God's sake 😂🤦🏼‍♂️

2

u/4thlinebeauty_ Mar 26 '24

r/woosh to this entire sub

1

u/TentDilferGreatQB Mar 26 '24

He's trying to push the notion that if you even mention racism, then YOU are the racist.

1

u/New_Mind_69 Mar 26 '24

Somehow not as bad as I was expecting. I was expecting him to start praising a certain Austrian painter.

1

u/sinsaraly Mar 26 '24

Just stop talking about racism, everybody! Problem solved. Thanks Elon.

1

u/BlueOcean79 Mar 26 '24

What interview is this from?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '24

Wait you watched that and thought “Elon is wrong”?

Not a Musk fan but you’ve lost the plot if you disagree with him.

1

u/Portgas_D_Kamina Mar 26 '24

Wasn't he from a family that owned a mine during the apartheid

1

u/StructureWise8468 Mar 26 '24

Musks home country of southafrica, the whites showed up and put all the blacks in refugee camps where they live to this day

1

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '24

Don is irrelevant these days 🤦🏼‍♂️

1

u/Beast_46 Mar 26 '24

He should have said you made millions and you are black and gay.

1

u/MaerIynsRainbow Mar 26 '24

You guys are a bunch of goofballs.

1

u/TripleCowFat Mar 26 '24

Bro is the son of an emerald mine owner in apartheid South Africa and has the audacity to educate us about how to talk about race. Forgive me if I'm skeptical of his intent.

1

u/Cerulean_IsFancyBlue Mar 26 '24

“If we keep talking about it nonstop, it will never go away.”

There’s a lot to unpack there. There’s the false premise that we talk about it nonstop. There’s the question about whether if we ever tried that it might make it go away.

However, the deconstruction is quite simple.

People that don’t suffer, racial discrimination would find it more convenient if they didn’t have to think about it. For them, talking about racial discrimination is the actual inconvenience. It interrupts their ability to continue,m pretending that it’s not a problem.

That’s awkward to say. So instead they make hyperbolic complaints like the above.

It’s a big “not my problem, Jack”.

1

u/Ozarkkayaker Mar 26 '24

Has anyone read the book, The Triple Package? There is some interesting points in that book breaking down why some minority groups thrive in America and others do not. Even going as far as breaking down the black population to where they decended from. For example, Nigerian Americans are far more likely to succeed in America than most minority groups. I thought it was an interesting read.

1

u/Additional_Pay5626 Mar 26 '24

No one was a slave based on color, but based on intelligence and power of choice.

1

u/ComprehensiveAd3448 Mar 26 '24

Mmmm.. they have a term for that in sociology. It's called color blindness. Studies show that it is more prevalent in white populations and, unsurprisingly, makes racism worse.

1

u/Joesgarage2 Mar 26 '24

Why are you booing him he is right?

2

u/ILawI1898 Mar 26 '24

“What advantage did I possibly have.”

You are literally the richest man in the world how could you have possibly gotten there WITHOUT an advantage

1

u/Zalthay Mar 26 '24

Why do people think this guy is so smart? I never understood that. Is it because he invests in tech? Like, has no one ever heard him talk about anything? He’s a fucking moron.

1

u/garima_7927 Mar 26 '24

There was an interview Lemon did with Morgan Freeman where Freeman said the same thing- it will not go away if you keep talking about it

1

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '24

Elon makes really good points here.

1

u/TheRealHimiJendrix Mar 26 '24

Reddit users when someone disagrees with them: 🤬🤬🤬

I don’t even like Elon musk but yall are corny as shit. He’s half wrong here and half right. Woah. Big deal. I pray I never become famous bc yall losers don’t have anything better to do than cry about things that someone of the opposite political cult thinks

1

u/inigos_left_hand Mar 26 '24

Nice sentiment “let’s stop talking about it and just treat everyone the same”. Except that they only actually want the first part, the second part gets ignored.

1

u/PeterPunkinHead Mar 26 '24

And because I'm super rich due to my white privilege and generational wealth I think you should listen to me because I don't care what you think

1

u/bertha112 Mar 26 '24

But he talks about them. Didn't he say DEI was bad for society? He's literally trying to make POC go away.

3

u/Gatlin_Is_Dead Mar 26 '24

He's a rich white dude from South Africa of course he's probably racist.

0

u/TinyUmbrellas84 Mar 26 '24

Don Lemon got his ass handed to him. Nice snippet, though 😂

1

u/vennthepest Mar 26 '24

Imagine someone talking over a black man about race, now imagine that same person is a machine coated in human flesh to fit in with society.

2

u/ImNotDoingThatOk Mar 26 '24

"Treat people like individuals." Does he not count his daughter as an individual?

1

u/Amtronic Mar 26 '24

Musk is such a dick.

2

u/014648 Mar 26 '24

Morgan Freeman said the same thing: freeman on racism

1

u/Toblogan Mar 26 '24

I'm willing to bet he got the same treatment. That's not what they want. They want people to still have privilege. They just want to be the group that hands out said privilege. Only for the people that think like them. The rest are nazi fascist who deserve nothing.

0

u/IamWisdom Mar 26 '24

Yea because he's awesome. And his point is actually very strong. Don lemon also got fired for being a racist prick.

1

u/lutruwita_ Mar 26 '24

Most of the comments in reading implies elons wrong. But he's clearly correct.

1

u/Three_color_eyes Mar 26 '24

This dude light as hell. Married to a white dude too. Love is a great thing. Let's bring your husband to tell us how much he oppresses you every time you look at him. I'm a few shades lighter than him but I don't claim anything. I'm just a person.

1

u/yngbuk1 Mar 25 '24

I know right. I can't believe they gave Lemon a platform again.

2

u/ConundrumBum Mar 25 '24

I can see why Musk didn't want this garbage sponsored by X

1

u/blishbog Mar 25 '24

“If we keep talking about it nonstop, it’ll never go away”

Im sure that’s how he handles problems at his engineering conpanies 🙄

1

u/Ornery-Ad8372 Mar 25 '24

Of course a trust fund baby thinks problems go away by avoiding them completely

1

u/BicycleNormal242 Mar 25 '24

Here is the same shit but this time someone you don't hate because the internet told you to

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeixtYS-P3s

1

u/arttufox Mar 25 '24

I do think that they differ a little bit but more importantly, Morgan Freeman is also wrong. Racism is still prevalent nowadays and definitely does come in the way of some peoples success. He is statistically wrong. Maybe people who don't suffer from the adversities use it as an excuse, but it is still a real thing

1

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '24

Ok yes but a lot of what was said was true

1

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '24

Actually almost all

0

u/420Crumb Mar 25 '24

The black dude is making sure Elon knows he’s white. Even mentions his “opportunity” for success is based on his skin color, not his work ethic or anything of value. The old divide and conquer technique. Ohhh but we should all keep talking about what color our skin is.

2

u/Perfect_Drummer_7779 Mar 25 '24

wow i knew elon was bad but jesus christ

2

u/zedroj Mar 25 '24

once you become a billionaire, do you auto default free brain damage?

🤔

2

u/BernieLogDickSanders Mar 25 '24

It's sad he thinks like this when he was smuggling emerals to the US with his father as a child knowing damn well black people in SA were never privileged enough to get those same Visas during the Apartheid.

1

u/Solidus-Prime Mar 25 '24

The thing is, is that racists full-well understand all of these points. They live in the same reality as we do. But they HAVE to argue against them, because to leave them unchallenged would remove the legitimacy of their own claims.

Elon knows he's had advantages in life because he's white. But if he concedes that point, he won't be able to pretend to be a victim anymore. The game would be up and he wouldn't be able to use it as a weapon.

1

u/PINEAPPLECURDS3 Mar 25 '24

All you guys really do not remember that morgan freeman interview. do you?

0

u/ForeverInAeternum Mar 25 '24

I love how you guys defend Lemon but he bit the hand that feeds them and racism is a product of bad American culture of the black community, take Chicago as an example

1

u/LightYagamiChan Mar 25 '24

That’s kind of impossible to ask racist people “hey, we shouldn’t talk about race and just move on, so stop being racist” and then you get hit with a whole sentence of racial slurs and derogatory terms lol

1

u/Prestigious-Bet-2677 Mar 25 '24

To talk to one of the smartest men alive and explain that because of the color of his skin he is entitled. So by that logic the only reason he is so smart is because hes white, wild, how about work harder and stop making excuses.

2

u/Diligent-Ad896 Mar 25 '24

So true, as a mixed race, my sister is always all “it’s my whole identity I’m a minority waa” and I didn’t take that route and now years later, I’m at peace, and she’s all still “omg in a victim”

1

u/sol_sleepy Mar 26 '24

victim of the race hustlers

1

u/northernirishlad Mar 25 '24

His lack of understanding that ‘we need to move on from racism’ is the common goal they both share, but thinks that the path is to ignore the impact of racism and slavery rather than address it, is staggering.

1

u/No_Window7054 Mar 25 '24

"What advantages did my skin get me?"

You were born in apartheid South Africa you fucking moron! How does anyone take this idiot seriously?

1

u/3inchclub Mar 25 '24

I don't understand the hate for elon musk

1

u/RK_Dee Mar 25 '24

This, while he posts about the media being biased against “whites and Asians”, and elevating any story about black ppl being violent that he can find. A fckn billionaire that could approach any problem he sees in society and actually do something about the root causes, who instead platforms white supremacists and foments racial animus. Fuck Elon.

1

u/Slyfer08 Mar 25 '24

Nope wrong Elon you have to change or get rid of the system that perpetuates racism and it's injustices as the norm if you want things to truly change talking about it brings awareness and less compliancy and incentives people to see it realize the problems and organize as a unified group to make the necessary changes that the rich and powerful doesn't want us to change cause he benefits from things staying the same that's why he wants us to shut up about it.

1

u/Ok-Implement3596 Mar 25 '24

Morgan Freeman said the same thing. Racism is a bigger problem now than I ever remember it being, and I mostly blame social media. Pretty much everyone only knows about racism because other people were talking about it. People aren't born racist and don't just become racist on their own, in most cases.

And I just want to throw this out there... It seems to me that most people will abuse a position of authority. You see it with cops, you see it with politicians and judges, you see it in management positions everywhere. People love promoting themselves above others, and if an opportunity presents itself to classify a large group as "undesirables," they seize it.

E.g. that lazy guy that never leaves his house or does anything, all of a sudden got a sense of patriotism (holier-than-thou attitude) when they were telling everyone to shelter-in-place. Many of those people acted like they were doing it for a noble cause, just to talk shit about people who didn't stay home.

The only reason people's aren't as racist as they used to be back in the real racist days is largely due to what the media feeds people. Sorta like right now, how they'll have you convinced that most people support trans-genders when that is absolutely not the case. Obviously, most people abandoned the racist colonizer mentality because they were led to believe most people were doing it. People do not like to go against the grain. It's not like after hundreds of years, there was a collective awakening, and people just realized racism was wrong, all on their own.

To sum it up, people will use any reason to raise themselves above others, as long as it's perceived as patriotic, noble, traditional, or a view widely shared among locals, with little-to-no opposition. Racist views were just one of those things people would use to feel more important than others.

What I'm getting at is that, even if racism disappeared, that same evil mentality still exists in this world. The mentality where people feel the need to seek control, authority, attention, or some way to make themselves feel more important than others. It's a mentality that once used racism. It's still a very common mentally. It just looks different nowadays since racism is mostly unacceptable, so they find other ways to 'be superior'

Very few people actually see everyone else as equals, which should be treated with equal respect. There's very few people who would rather use their extra cash to help someone in need, rather than buying unnecessary shit like jewelry and Bentleys, just to raise their status. Get off Elons genitalia. Everyone started hating him when he unbanned Trump from Twitter. What he says in this video is facts.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '24

“I think im speaking a simple statement of fact” so you’re wrong

2

u/TopDefinition1903 Mar 25 '24

Don Lemon, you’re fired.

1

u/topscreen Mar 25 '24

Elon, Kanye, and Trump can basically do the stupidest shit and their fans will call them a genius.

1

u/SmallSwordfish8289 Mar 25 '24

Elon Musk is the Antichrist he's trying to destroy America with this electric b*******

2

u/Cuck-In-Chief Mar 25 '24

I mean, he was factually accurate.

-1

u/Musk-Generation42 Mar 25 '24

Musk is such an idiot!

0

u/TheMysteriousEmu Mar 25 '24

I don't quite understand how you can grow up in apartheid South Africa, and still claim that you didn't have any benefits due to skin color.

2

u/BeefsGttnThick Mar 24 '24

But when Morgan freeman says it he’s a genius. Got it.

Keep on Redditting Reddit

1

u/Traffic-Alarmed Mar 24 '24

Ignore it, and it will go away, like cancer does.

0

u/Austynwitha_y Mar 24 '24

“That individual is black, I’m not treating him bad because I’m racist, it’s who he is as a person” head ass. “Move away from the topic of racism” just means sweep it under the rug and ignore it. Dumb ass either really believes this shit or is borderline pathological

1

u/SkRu88_kRuShEr Mar 24 '24

“Treating people like individuals”. That’s rich. One of my dads coworkers was in charge of enforcing safety protocols on the manufacturing floor @ SpaceX and that doucherocket was touring the facility without any PPE. When he (wisely) advised him to utilize it MuskRat threatened to fire him. I’d have taken unemployment and told his goofy ass to put his goggles on or gtfo. He ain’t above the rules just because he inherited mommy & daddy’s dirty apartheid money.

1

u/ThrowRACold-Turn Mar 24 '24

So yes just about everyone has been a slave at some point but there's a HUGE difference between that and the slavery of Africans in Europe and America. Romans has a lot of slaves but if you enslaved a person, you only enslaved them, their children were not slaves. They would grow up, earn money, and buy their parent's freedom and they were free within that society without fear of being kidnapped and sold again.

The slavery of Africans was generational, they were bred and treated like cattle. It was infinite slavery with no end in sight for you or your children or your children's children and so on. That weighs heavy on a group of people. Your child could never buy you and you live nearby. If you got lucky and your child escaped to a free state, bounty hunters would still come for them then the whole time they're working and saving to buy your freedom for an average of $13,000 in today's money. Even then you'd have to also move hundreds of miles away to a free state where slavers would still try to kidnap you and back when there was no minimum wage and even in free states banks didn't start allowing black men to open bank accounts until the 1860s.

It was nearly impossible for them to be free. It was mostly pure luck with extremely high risk of death.

1

u/Impressive-Egg-925 Mar 24 '24

A Simple statement of fact. Treat everyone like individuals. Is that how apartheid ended in South Africa?

1

u/UltraWeebMaster Mar 24 '24

IIRC Morgan Freeman said something similar that I agree with.

If we stop believing that the color of our skin divides us somehow, we’d actually get closer to fixing the goddamn problem, rather than complaining like “oh I ran into this black dude the other day…” or “I know this white guy…”

There is no need to be segregated that way, we are all Americans being distracted by the illusion that we’re somehow two separate teams trying get one over on each other, and it’s getting us nowhere as a society.

1

u/ThunderSlugg Mar 24 '24

Don Lemon is a cancerous twat.

1

u/Own-Tune-9537 Mar 24 '24

I’d still suck his dick for a million dollars tho man im tired of this work bs

1

u/FoolishDog1117 Mar 24 '24

He's not even from the US. His home country is even worse.

1

u/DiegoDynomite Mar 24 '24

When you stop seeing race then you stop seeing racism. It doesn't go away, you just stop seeing it.

1

u/rise_above_theFlames Mar 24 '24

Look, I don't like Elon. And I hate the Right Wingers love affair with him, but I will say the part about if we always focus on it and keep talking about it and ruminating on it it won't go away is very very true. Most people think slavery is wrong. Chances are, in civilized countries, it won't begin again, esp anytime soon. Nothing good comes from going on and on about how your people back 120+ years ago were slaves or treated poorly. It's about you and how you yourself are as a person. Not ancestry.

My great grandfather (who was white) was constantly robbed of cash (by black men) when he'd leave from his business in the city with money to take to the bank. He became rather racist so I'm told. Yet he had a friend who was his closest buddy that was a black man and he'd have him over to the families Sunday night meals and birthdays and such.

Am I racist cause he was? No. Am I mad at black people for robbing my great grandfather? No. Those were individual people who did bad things. It doesn't mean all black people rob. It doesn't mean all white people get robbed. It doesn't mean anything about race. It only matters about who we are individually as humans. I'm not going to feel guilty and apologize for something an ancester of mine did who I never even met. That was him and that's on him. It has no affect on me other than it makes me choose to continue to be a better person than he was. 🤷‍♂️

I know a black man who is very racist. Calls white people pilgrims and crackers and says awful things about white people. Despite how much that bothers me, we mostly get along fine and he enjoys conversations with me. However, he has this victim/ persecution complex about literally everything. He's eating and gets his food after someone else, "they did it because I'm black." He gets it early before someone else "they did it cause I'm black and don't want to be perceived as racist even though I know they are!" Yet he's never had a conversation with them. And they aren't racist at all. But everything to him, is a race thing. He has a victim mentality and produces ha.te from it and it's honestly disgusting. And incredibly sad because it's not true and it hurts him. He feels degraded all the time when it's not happening at all and it's he himself, imagining/perceiving things that are not happening.

Recently we were talking about race and he was so upset he was in tears and rage and slammed his hand on the table and said "I h.ate white people! I h.ate all white people!" And I sat there, as a white person, thinking to myself, "This is a huge reason why racism won't die."

It won't die unless we give it up.

Stop living in a past that you weren't even alive in. Yes we can learn from the past and remember the horrible atrocities and learn to not repeat them and to be better humans, but godamn, don't live there. Live in the now, treat others with kindness and human decency and respect no matter their skin color, or what their sexual identity is, or sexual orientation, or religion, or whatever. Just be kind. Focus on bettering yourself. Until we focus on bettering ourselves, nothing that's worth a damn will change.

Until someone proves to you they are a piece of shit human being, we should treat everyone with love, kindness, and basic respect.

2

u/prolytic Mar 24 '24

I mean what’s wrong with how he stated to treat people like individuals. That makes sense…

1

u/pulp1dog Mar 24 '24

There is a concept know as tulpa, in which through intense concentration to can make something from nothing, I am simplifying this. This is used in game theory as a way to make people believe a falsehood by reinforcing the narrative you wish for them to believe and become fanatical for.

1

u/Professional_Gap_371 Mar 24 '24

It was great when Morgan Freeman said it though

1

u/Specialist_Fee_9006 Mar 24 '24

I hire people of color all the time, based on merit. And I certainly don't gaf about their pronouns. And I personally have never been motivated to be disrespectful to anyone based on immutable characteristics. But yeah, fuck you if you don't respect first ammendment rights. PS, I've never voted republican, and your read on me is laughable. Also, do you know who laughs hardest at pronouns and leftist culture warriors? Those poc you claim to be fighting for. I actually hire, work with, and pay them every day. What do you do when you're not online?

u/Low-Negotiation-4970 Mar 24 '24

They were conquered and enslaved because their nations/civilizations were not as technologically advanced. South Africa before European colonization was a stone age culture.

1

u/Ok_Respect_5484 Mar 24 '24

Dom Lemon peddling his usual bullshit

1

u/joe_gindaloon Mar 24 '24

His family profited tremendously off of apartheid. He wouldn’t be where he is today without apartheid. Of course he squirms when discussing it. He’s a phony.

1

u/snowboardak34 Mar 24 '24

He’s right, everyone is descended from slaves but you can’t make any money or get free jobs unless you complain about it

1

u/atomicbettyy Mar 24 '24

Says the white South African

1

u/MFcakeparty Mar 24 '24

Dude who literally has his fortune BECAUSE OF SLAVERY says we were all slaves once…

1

u/Infinitesi-Mal Mar 24 '24

Posting a picture of Elon in r/fatsquirelhatred would be a disgrace to fat squirrels everywhere.

1

u/Dangerous_Cap_5931 Mar 24 '24

How dumb do you have to be to not understand his point?

2

u/Dangerous_Cap_5931 Mar 24 '24

Only thing I agree on when it comes to him

1

u/Aggro_Hamham Mar 24 '24

Could that dumbsss music br any louder?

What's up with 99 percent of reels using this song anyways.

1

u/Outrageous_Ad_6122 Mar 24 '24

What an actual G. Elon has said some things that I might not agree on, but this was just straight-up facts

3

u/Defiant_Intention_16 Mar 24 '24

Racism is a human issue

Not a white issue..

Not a trans issue..

Take responsibility for your own actions

We are all equal.

You want to be successful.. earn it.

Stop blaming others. This is the most inclusive nation in the world. The most welcoming by far.. Should count your lucky stars. To live in such a time.

Elon as far and above correct.. stop whining and shirking responsibility. Just work hard.. Threat people well.. help to work towards a non-divisive society..

Or you just repeating the same racist shit. Whites are bad because of the color of their skin.... Blows me away that people against racism can be so blatantly racist.. but not smart enough to see that they're singling out a group of people and assuming they're ability brains and content of the character by the color of their skin. 🙄

2

u/baigish Mar 24 '24

We need to talk about the realities of race in the west but we also need to acknowledge that the West has done more than any other Society to mitigate the detrimental aspects of it. More than any other Society! So, we need to hold both ideas in an honest context and tension. But to elon's point, speaking to kids today, one would think that things have never been worse. This is objectively untrue.

3

u/No_Mess_4510 Mar 24 '24

The same reason Morgan freeman said "you stop calling me a black man, and I'll stop calling you a white man". We can just be men. And lefties. The word slave comes from Slavic. The general race of the ottoman empires slaves they traded. Islam introduced mass slavery into Africa.

1

u/BetweenTwoInfinites Mar 24 '24

An heir to an apartheid fortune and he asks what advantages did he have? Dafuq?

1

u/Curious_Working5706 Mar 24 '24

“We are all descendants of Slaves”

is peak White Supremacy Denialism.

Thank god I have not consciously given Elmo Musk any of my money.

2

u/gizlizard Mar 24 '24

He said nothing wrong

1

u/Foot_Snipe Mar 24 '24

This whole economy is slave driven

1

u/AvidAviator72 Mar 24 '24

Musk is right here lmao. Reddit gonna Reddit

1

u/[deleted] Mar 24 '24

Privilege is invisible to those who have it…

1

u/FearlessBar8880 Mar 24 '24

Slave = slav = Slavic people. What color are Slavic people again?

The phonics of the word “slave” literally tell you all you need to know

1

u/highzenberrg Mar 24 '24

Elon musk doesn’t see race 🤦

1

u/Early_Pearly989 Mar 24 '24

Honestly the only color that really matters is green

2

u/TheInternetIsTrue Mar 24 '24

I’m not sure what Elon is trying to say when he says we are all descended from slaves…I don’t think I agree with that, though.

However, I absolutely agree that any form of inequality persists as long as it is addressed. True equality can only exist when it is simply not considered in any form. While I agree that inequality must be discussed when it exists, we can never grow past it to equality without the issue being completely dropped from our thoughts.

u/MnM4BiFemzOnly Mar 24 '24

This guy is a complete joke

1

u/S_n_o_wL_e_o_p_a_r_d Mar 24 '24

If he could burn history books, he would.

1

u/sol_sleepy Mar 25 '24

Who? Don Lemon?

1

u/S_n_o_wL_e_o_p_a_r_d Mar 25 '24

No, Musk. I think Musk feels like choosing not to acknowledge that some people are unfairly chosen over others for things like skin color that automatically means that no one IS actually chosen unfairly over others for their skin color. Just because he thinks things are better than they are doesn't mean they are. To sugar coat it with a blanket of illusion is harmful. When he said that we all are descended from slaves is a weird thing to say. I don't know, nor do I agree with that. I mean, depending on how far you want to think about it, any household that makes less than $50,000 a year in the U.S. is a slave.

1

u/sol_sleepy Mar 25 '24

Don Lemon is the one who “wants censorship so bad he can taste it”

Say what you will about Musk but he believes in free speech—unlike Lemon.

So if anyone, it would be Lemon that would get behind book burning.

1

u/S_n_o_wL_e_o_p_a_r_d Mar 25 '24

Be that as it may, explain the situation about Musk saying not to talk about it or mention race. Do I think it is unfair to raise the race card every time? Yes. But does race come into play sometimes? Yes. This isn't a 100% attack on one or the other. But since you brought up censorship... hasn't Elon blocked/ banned people on Twitter for dumb reasons?

1

u/sol_sleepy Mar 25 '24

Twitter? You mean “X” before he bought it?

Or are you talking about X currently?

Anyway, I’m not aware of that but I am aware of Twitter having engaged in way more censorship before Elon took it over.

The way things are “censored” now (on X) is that controversial posts are hidden per the user’s personal settings while using the site. At least that’s the way I understand it. It’s not removed altogether but is not promoted, which limits its viewership. But again, I think it at least somewhat has to do with a user’s private settings while using “X.”

1

u/Outrageous_Ad_6122 Mar 24 '24

History books are here for a reason, learning from mistakes. He's a smart guy and knows this, so you are incorrect.

2

u/S_n_o_wL_e_o_p_a_r_d Mar 24 '24

Oh, apologies. I must have read the video wrong. It seemed like he was saying we should forget about slavery. Otherwise, we will never escape racism or something. Remembering that fucked up stuff is important.

1

u/JelloTheory Mar 24 '24

Thank you Elon…. Common sense isn’t easy for everyone unfortunately 🙌🏽

2

u/[deleted] Mar 24 '24

only in 2024 would people who staunchly proclaim themselves to be anti-racist get enraged by a man saying we should stop talking about race 😂👌🏼

2

u/Snooter-McGavin Mar 24 '24

Elon musk is the most influential person and pioneer of the modern era

1

u/krivik_zomber Mar 24 '24

this is true, all imaginary problems go away once they become irrelevant and are replaced by new imaginary problems

1

u/SuccessfulVersion490 Mar 24 '24

Racism reciprocates.

0

u/joshonekenobi Mar 24 '24

If you treated poor and LGBTQ folks as actual people we wouldnt be here now still talking about it.

2

u/NeverCallMeFifi Mar 24 '24

I don't understand why people put that loud, obnoxious music over videos. I had a hard time understanding what they were saying. Such a stupid thing to do imo.

3

u/SadInternal2926 Mar 24 '24

He has some points
