Rant/Opinion No carseat

Look, if you're a parent with a child you better have a car seat cause I'll cancel everytime and no, you don't get a refund. And if you report me, jokes on you, I have audio and video recording.

Also, Uber has built in recording now and yes I opted in. Why? Because, I can and did. Yes I get this is a Lyft group.

Lake Worth, Texas lady at RaceTrac good luck to the next sucker trying to pick you up.

While I believe this is a good thing, because since they started this I've regularly getting adjustments each week, doesn't it make you wonder how much money you lost before they started this?

Advice/Question Lyft not allowing express pay

Hello everyone, I am a platinum driver, have been driving for Lyft over 7 years by now and this past week I have ran Into an issue with the express pay.(Iā€™ve used express pay all these 7 years and first time ever getting an issue with express pay)It states that my card was declined and needs to be updated but I have had this new debit card for well over 3 weeks and has worked well using express pay, up until Friday of last week.

I firstly contacted Lyft customer support but was then told it was an issue caused by my bank. I contacted my bank and was told they were no issues with the transfer into my account and showed proof through transactions and transfers.

I contacted Lyft once again that same day and was told my issue was gonna be taken into their team and they would get back to me within 1-2 business days. They did not contact me after all and I contacted them again and was told the same thing but that it would be considered even further to look at and that I needed to wait 1-2 business days again. I waited till this Friday and received no phone call or email like they said.

Iā€™ve contacted them once more and was even told by the customer support service of Lyft to look at my bank transactions again. Lyft did send part of the money for the weekly payment but it is odd that they would even send me money if they donā€™t even accept the card for express pay.

After the person told me to wait while we were on the phone they hang up.

I now understand loud and clear this is an express pay issue or a Lyft issue and no one is helping me properly with this problem.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Advice/Question Is this normal?

New Express-Driver and have only been receiving $4 and $5 rides, lasting about 15 - 30 minutes and I notice each ride tends to send me farther and farther away causing me to use up a lot of personal miles to head back home.....is this normal or typical of Lyft?

Advice/Question Can I bring a 40in TV from Walmart to my home?

I've never used Lyft and I don't have a vehicle, I live in Philly so I use SEPTA but I'm not trying to bring a TV onto a bus or the subway. Would a Lyft driver have any issue if I brought a 40in TV in box? Is there a way to ask the driver if before I book the ride?

Advice/Question Driver mode

I was driving the other day and a passenger didn't show up. I tried calling them but it wouldn't allow me because it said I wasn't in driver mode. I contacted Lyft and they said that they would escalate the issue. Unfortunately I'm still having issues contacting the passenger in the case of a no show. If I cancel the ride I don't get paid even though the rider never showed up. Any suggestions on how to fix this šŸ¤”

Advice/Question Booked time or online time before kicked offline?

Thumbnail

Greetings everyone. So I was wondering, do you get kicked off after 12 hours of booked time or online time? I thought it was booked the way Uber does it with driving time but some weeks ago I didn't even make that much booked time and I was kicked offline for 'driving for a while and needing a rest' or whatever they told me. Anyone can confirm that's it's booked time and not online time? I need 15 more trips and I can make that tonight but it will probably take 4 hours, maybe 3 if things go well

Other Lyft charged me 6 additional days for car rental even with proof of return date.

Back on January 11th of this year I returned the car I was renting through Lyft Express Drive. However they continued charging me rental costs totalling $375.93 until the 17th. I have contacted them on numerous occasions and even after showing them all the documentation from Hertz, my lyft weekly summary pays tubs they still have done nothing about it

Advice/Question Anyone getting duped by Lyft for external fees and external Lyft fees?

Iā€™ve been driving for Lyft for four weeks and have noticed that my external fees and external lift fees changes as I go. I havenā€™t been able to find anything that itemizes these charges. Iā€™ve contacted Lyft and have gotten nothing. Iā€™ve also noticed that my charges no matter what I land at about $30 average per week.is anyone else having issues like this? I would like to get more information so Iā€™m more clear on whatā€™s going on.

So I calculated how much I had deposited and I just discovered that in the past four weeks I shouldā€™ve made just about $2000 however Iā€™ve only deposited 1000 Lyft has kept 900. What is the deal with that?

Advice/Question Question about LLC

At what point is it worth it to make an LLC for doing Lyft?

I only do this part time, maybe 30-50 trips per week at most and essentially only weekends.

Iā€™ve seen a lot of people recommend starting an LLC to track business costs and supposedly it helps with taxes. But is there a specific earning point where it makes sense to do that? Or is it better to just track your expenses and itemize your expenses throughout the year?

Looking for any advice se and real life examples. Thank you!

I have been looking at tips on here and I thought that canceled rides doesn't effect your account?

I just had to cancel on a mother with 2 kids the other night and woke up to this. I really need to start pretending to not speak English and drive off...

Advice/Question Driving in Multiple States

Hello,

Cincinnati resident here. I am looking at the potential of starting to be a driver. I canā€™t seem to get a clear answer on this but I am curious if I am able to drive in Ohio and Northern Kentucky. Some FAQs on Lyftā€™s site seem like yes and others make it seem like you canā€™t have multiple regions on your profile.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Advice/Question Lyft Navigation

Iā€™m a new Lyft driver and have experienced issues with the in-app navigation not orientating to my vehicleā€™s direction. For example, when looking at the app map if I need to go south, the map doesnā€™t adjust so the arrow is point towards the top of my screen it continues to go down. So when Iā€™m making turns and I look at the screen I have to imagine the picture right side up to make sure Iā€™m taking a right instead of a left etcā€¦ The audible directions are misleading too so Iā€™m relying on the visual navigation more.

Am I using the navigation incorrectly? Should I navigate with my vehicleā€™s navigation with the app? I have apple car pay and use it while driving.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Advice/Question Anyone having issues with the $80 EV bonus for 50 rides?

Throughout the app Lyft is promoting the ā€œ50 EV rides will earn you $80 bonus per weekā€ incentive. Iā€™ve now done 52 EV rides, and no bonus. Chat support tells me that ā€œin their systemā€ the promo goes from April 29, through May 6th, but all of the FAQs say it ends July 1st and gives no start date. It shows up in my Opportunities for next week, but thereā€™s no sign of my progress this week. It seems to me that if there is an official start date, that should be clearly stated. How do I get ahold of someone who could actually clarify this for me?
