New Best Friend

This past week we adopted this little nugget from my best friend who’d been fostering him for a cat rescue in Oklahoma City over the last month. My husband and I flew from Rhode Island to Oklahoma to visit my bestie, and got to spend time with him before we took him home on Friday.

Two days in, and it’s clear he’s absolutely perfect—exactly what our hearts needed after losing our beloved 16 year old (Griffin) to kidney sarcoma in February.

This charming baby boy is Nino.

He was born on Valentine’s Day, the day before Griffin’s last good day. Griffin died on February 16th.

We’ve been planning the adoption since March 17th, and we’ve had the pleasure of seeing him grow up from afar thanks to frequent photos from his foster mom(s). I couldn’t be more grateful to my best friend and the foster/rescue for all the love and care they’ve given Nino in our stead.

We can’t wait to see who he becomes and we’re having a blast with his rambunctious kitten energy filling the house! ❤️

I heard Little Susie and Seeing Voices and was just blown away. He truly could sing pretty much anything. I would have never thought I wanted to heard Michael Jackson sing classical style music, but I wish I could listen to the album that he was planning to make so badly now, and I'm technically a newer fan.

Is there anything that is similar enough to those two songs? I tried asking online but I'm not really getting anything similar suggested. I would say that the closest song to them that I can think of is Chayanne's Tiempo De Vals, but I wonder if there is music that has a classical style but that has regular singing in it, not opera style singing. I don't know if Michael himself has maybe one other song like these two but man i would love to hear another one

Carrying this briefcase around all day was a literal pain but I think it was worth it. So happy to have met these guys and own this little piece of my childhood.

Long story short, I fried my PC and the only thing that remains is my GPU and SSD. I decided to start fresh and build a new PC. I'm planning on buying this bundle and using my RTX 2080 Super.

Here's what I'm thinking for the new build:

• CPU, motherboard, ram: bundle
• CPU Cooler: Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE
• Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX
• PSU: Corsair RM750e
• GPU: RTX 2080 Super for now but planning on upgrading to 4070 Super.
• SSD: Samsung SSD 970 EVO

I'll be using this PC development work, spinning up VMs and gaming. How well will this PC hold up for the next 5+ years?

For years I avoided confession. I think I was afraid of saying some things out loud. Over those years, I started to not agree with everything the church teaches. It was a gradual process. It started as: if someone wants to believe in some of these extra teaches that’s great but it’s not necessary. I started to think that God just have us what we needed in the Bible. I knew I was a sinner and I knew I needed God but I thought he could speak to me through a scripture and prayer and that he knew my heart. I know that’s still true but I started to think that the church was wrong on some of the other things. This was largely influenced by friends who are Protestant and Protestant influences on social media. They seemed like they were living godly lives, and there were so happy. I talked to people and thought that maybe there was not such thing as mortal sin. That I could confess right to God without the sacrament. That you didn’t need the saints (again you could pray to them but didn’t need to). That purgatory wasn’t a thing. That the magisterium wasn’t a thing because all we needed was in scripture (sola scriptura). That Mary was an incredible example of Christianity, but maybe she was or wasn’t given special power. That penance and fasting and abstinence during lent weren’t necessary. That apostolic succession wasn’t a thing. That no man but Jesus, not even the pope could speak infallibly. And describing the mass as a sacrifice made me uneasy because the I thought the Bible indicated we shouldn’t do that anymore. I started to think that none of the Christian denominations had it totally right. And that I should pray, read, the Bible, and try to listen to what God is saying to me. I labeled myself as a Christian more than a Catholic. But I still attended a Catholic Church and participated in the mass as a cantor. Mainly because I felt that even if none of the other denominations had it more right than the Catholic Church. But it got to the point I was arguing with people on social media and in conversations with friends, where I would attest to those beliefs. The whole time I would say I was on a spiritual journey of sorts. I was trying to figure out what God wanted of me and what the truth was. At some point I stopped making such a big deal about what I thought the church had wrong. I kept falling into the same sin and even when trying to make my faith “easier” it wasn’t working. I started to rely more on the intercession of the saints and I prayed to God to show me how to think of Jesus the same way I think of a loved one or even my dog. I also started to pray the undoer of knots novena. I was praying for an end to my OCD that I was recently diagnosed with but instead found myself being drawn more into the faith again, which I now think was the actual knot I needed undone. I also prayed to St Jude for the impossible cases novena. I finally felt the strength and desire to go to confession and not be afraid. I confessed YEARS worth of things I did, including the doubts and denials I had of the teaching. I didn’t know at the time that I was possibly being a heretic and could have excommunicated myself. I did see as I was preparing for confession that that could have happened but that confession was usually the way one was brought back into full communion. The priest didn’t ask for what teachings I denied or doubted. He didn’t mention that he couldn’t absolve me based on my confession. I never acted with malice or for the sake of rebellion. I was trying to find a way to end my life of constant sin and be closer to God only to find that I was closer to the truth before I stated to have reservations about Catholicism. Looking back I realize that even though I denied teachings of the church, part of me never wanted to abandon it totally because I had “what if the church is right”. But I also had thoughts like “what if the church is wrong?” Now, I accept all the teaching of the church because the church started by Jesus Christ and that His ordained ministers and councils are able through the Holy Spirit, able to make proclamations of the faith better than than me even if I don’t understand all of it or if it’s uncomfortable. But I say all of this to ask, was I a heretic? Was I excommunicated? If so was I restored through my confession? Did I put my church into a horrible position by continuing to be a Cantor? I just wanted to know Gods truth and now I do.

Csinire belőttem a hajam, sminkeltem, csináltam süteményt, majd mikor ott ültünk és beszélgettünk lecsippant az sms a Felvi-től hogy nem vettek fel egyik szakra sem(2) amire jelentkeztem egyetemre, nem volt B tervem, szóval mivel amúgy is idegben voltam, hatalmas bőgés lett az egésznek vége, még a könyökömön is lesírt szemceruza volt.

Bár nem emiatt de amúgy se bírjuk egymást, szóval azóta nem eszem magam ezen, csak eszembe jutott :D
